To dress (or at least to be considered for the roster), he would have to be better than only one receiver, Sindani. I've seen Herslow just once, but I've seen Sindani enough times to be open to the idea that Herslow might be faster, more elusive, better. However, AV makes a good point that Grant has to get back into the lineup, and having him replace Coxie on the game roster would open up a spot elsewhere (presumably d-line) for an extra INT. Nield and Mital are certainly capable of holding down a spot in the starting five, although I wouldn't think either runs as fast as Coxie.
You can look up 40 times on the internet - from Pro days or Combines.

Coxie ran a weak (for receivers) 4.77; maybe why he did not get much NFL interest after very good production in college ball. Speed is not his strength, it's more big frame, catch radius, able to go up and get 50/50 balls; similar to Eugene Lewis or Kenny Lawlor who are both more like 4.6 mids range speed.

Polk reported at 4.59; Mital was 4.58 at last year's Combine. Tommy Nield a 4.60 at his CFL Combine - not much difference for those 3

Brissett has reportedly recorded a 4.47 = which would make him the fastest Argo receiver likely.

Second day in a row that Coxie and Sopik did not practise, so it's safe to assume they are both out.

What times did Herslow and Sindani put up?

Coxie was DNP again today. I think it's safe to say he will miss the ESF.

I'll wager not even close to as fast as Mario Alford, who continues to be a CFL punt returner only with next to no playing time at receiver.

I have no idea what that has to do with this discussion, but OK.

You seemed to be implying you'd like Herslow in cause he might have good speed ? (Could not find a true reported 40 time for either of Herslow (reports of 4.4 range to 4.6 range at an NFL prospects site ?) or Sindani)

So I'm saying pure speed does not determine what makes a good all-around receiver; and a guy with one game / limited experience with the team and offence is maybe not the best fit over more experienced receivers.

Alford has blazing speed; Coxie does not; neither did Andy Fantuz (with a 5 second Combine forty), but he led the entire CFL in receiving in a season.

I don't have any measureables on Herslow, but Ben Grant mentioned on his podcast that Herslow never jumped off the page with stats at any level but yet he made the pros. Sounds like a guy that worked hard and it pays off.

If he can go limited tomorrow, I would still hold out some hope for him playing on Saturday. I am not holding my breath on that though.

These articles written by Mike Hogan are awesome. ( incase you didn't see it )

Guess its thirty-four years between post-seasons meetings with Ottawa.... and "‘It will take an act of God to beat us on Saturday,"
