I'd run through a brick wall for that man right now.ARGO57 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 9:53 am Much respect for Ryan Dinwiddie who showed how much he cares about his players with his emotional encouragement for Chad Kelly who was lying on the field and telling the players to “keep fighting”.

I’m still crushed over the injury. Was it a bit late and “piling” or was just an unfortunate tangling of bodies? Just win baby.
Re: East Final Thread - Toronto Argonauts @ Montreal Alouettes
I know we are all hoping for the best. Realistically, Kelly might be able to walk and resume activities we do in 9 months. To fully resume as a football player is a different story. I hate to write it, but it’s extremely likely he’s gone for next year too. It’s a career ender for guys in their mid thirties.
Maybe I spend too much time on X. It’s disheartening seeing people rejoice in this injury. The same people who took the moral superiority road when Kelly faced accusations are now showing what kind of people they are. Unbelievably stupid people out there.

Indicative of the hypocrisy that permeates society these days.

Definitely unfortunate. He was making the tackle from behind and really had no way to avoid the way he landed on Kelly.ArgoGabe22 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 11:58 am I’m still crushed over the injury. Was it a bit late and “piling” or was just an unfortunate tangling of bodies? Just win baby.

I expect Kelly to be back. He will work his ass off. May be a similar time frame to this year though we’re he misses the first half of the season.ArgoZ wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 12:00 pm I know we are all hoping for the best. Agreed so much on the morality police showing their true colours on social media. Pardon my language, but fuck them. People with opinions that mark someone as guilty without any true evidence can all go to hell.

IMO nothing intentional on that play, just an unfortunate turn of events.ArgoGabe22 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 11:58 am I’m still crushed over the injury. Was it a bit late and “piling” or was just an unfortunate tangling of bodies? Just win baby.

A bitter sweet win to say the least. I admired the way Kelly played after a rough start. To me, the game was reminiscent of last year's East Final, except the roles were reversed turnover wise and the game wasn't a blowout. Kudos to Arbuckle for coming through with some clutch throws, especially the one to Ungerer. I wouldn't have been surprised if Montreal would've won on a last second field without that completion. So, once again we are the underdog, which has served us well in recent years. It's just a shame that our most important player won't be there. That being said, we can win this game. However, scoring only one offensive touchdown obviously won't be good enough to win. And we can't count on Winnipeg turning the ball over six times. It would be amazing if we could go continue our Grey Cup winning streak under these circumstances.

As I watched the 4th Quarter, I felt Argos could pull it out, but in the moment I was still thinking what does it matter, they can't win Grey Cup now.
But today I feel the exact opposite. Arbuckle did what he needed to cold off the bench. A more than full week with his full contingent of weapons to practice with and a coach who knows him and the situation to work with him full-time means they can do this. Special teams and Defence will elevate their games. And the motivation to win this for themselves and their QB in an upside down season, I would not bet against them.
