Yes that's true but the Alouettes were a different, much better team at the end of the season and Kelly didn't look as sharp against them.
I guess bogus allegations by AJ’s bestie had more of an effect than we can imagine. The more I hear, the more I believe Kelly was set up. I will leave it at that.
My comments had nothing to do with the allegations against Kelly, I was simply observing that I thought Montreal was a much stronger team at the end of last season than earlier in the season and that by the Eastern Finals, Kelly didn't have alot of success against them. So I not sure he would any better than Dukes did against them.

Kelly had an atrocious game in the Eastern Final but let’s not ignore the fact the Argos dominated Montreal in the regular season in 2023.
Watching the game last night I’m convinced Toronto can and will compete favourably with Montreal once their injured (and suspended) players return to the lineup.

In 2 of the three games that the Argos won against Montreal last season they dominated, the last game they won 23- 20 and they lost convincingly in the Eastern Final - so the Alouettes are a much improved team from early in the 2023 season. I also agree though that with so many players out injured, it made the task last night much more difficult for the Argos.

Mital in particular would definitely be in the lineup if healthy, given injuries to Brissett and Ungerer, and how good he looked in preseason. It's annoying that it now appears everyone on the IL is going to be six-gamed; if so, we'll never know which injuries are long-term and which are short.

I gather CFL teams are not obliged to reveal nature of injuries or schedule for return from injuries, but I don't see why a team that cares about their fan base and the media coverage would not be willing to provide some basic info ? Were Adeleke or Mital carted off the field in ex. games? Mind you, the lack of respect for the Argos and Canadian football in these parts likely means no media guys who might cover the Argos even a bit, know or care about these details. If it was a Leafs or Raptors or Blue Jays player(s), the reporters would be all ga ga over even a hang-nail issue. MLSE obviously does not give a flying **** about the Argos, so don't expect anything there.

And my comment was to say that perhaps psychologically it may have affected him heading into the game. Allegedly he blew up at her during a team breakfast prior to that game, after she went to John Murphy of all people.

Oh okay, I didn't make that connection, but you may be right as he Kelly certainly didn't look like himself in that Eastern final. I hope that some of the Argos can come off the injured list by next week's game against Saskatchewan as they are missing alot of key players at the moment and that is definitely hurting their game.

Regardless of what one thinks of the issues Kelly faced just before the Eastern final, it has to be recognized he won the league MOP for a reason. The team's 16-2 record last year was to a very great extent a result of Kelly's play. Dukes may develop into a good starter but not having Kelly at QB puts the team at a real disadvantage.

The two trick plays hurt the Argos. The squibble kick to get a 1st down should have been seen as a possibility by the coaches--we were talking about the possibility just before it happened--so why didn't the Argo coaches?

The D line couldn't seem to put consistent pressure on the Montreal QB. That was a strong part of the team's D last year, even in the Eastern final. OK --the D line was missing Orimolade and Oakman but more was expected of the D line. Oakman sacked Cody 3 times in last year's Eastern final. The team could have used those 3 sacks last night. BTW where is Oakman?

The team could not afford to re-sign all of last year's players but knowing they were going to lose Stiggers, one has to question why they did not make an effort to re-sign Peters. It is somewhat disappointing the team couldn't manage to keep either Peters or Pickett. Robertson Daniel was playing at an all star level last year until he was injured. In light of the secondary's recent play and especially now they has DB injuries perhaps the team needs to see if Daniel is available.

Just a few thoughts that have come to me after the Montreal game!

The Argos dominated the one game they won at home against the Als but both games in Montreal went down to the wire.

I would love to see Robertson Daniel back myself. Nobody has picked up Carnell IV or Priester either.

What would be the motivation to set up Chad Kelly??? I honestly can't see what would be in it for the league or the Argos themselves. Or are you saying that AJ Ouellette colluded with the complainant for some reason?
