Dinwiddie's ambition

Post by paulwoods13 »

This is sure to generate some angst among Argo fans.

Personally, I'm reassured to hear he hasn't been in recent touch with Kingsbury, since the latter might be in demand fir a HC job in a couple of weeks, and seems like RD's easiest path to an assistant job down there.

I'm intrigued by the reference to filling in for Pinball and Murphy. Would love to know exactly who does what in the Argo front office these days. If Pinball and Murphy aren't always around (and in Pinball's case that would come as no surprise, given how much other stuff he has going on in his life), and with Russell and Magri long gone, who besides the HC is minding the store?

It’s time to make him both Coach and GM and give him the big raise.

I would argue that RD is a better and smarter football man than DD, and also that Argo ownership is more accommodating than Calgary’s.

I think RD is a better and smarter football man than both those guys too. Don’t you?

I hate split-role HC/GM.

For the obsessive amount of work it would take to do either job there simply just isn't enough hours in the day to make it happen. The months of grinding and stressing over 1000 important details every day is too much.

Bill Belichick was pretty successful doing it. One could argue he wouldn’t have been such a successful coach if he wasn’t such a good GM too. The key is having the right supports and assistance in place.
