Re: Job Cuts at MLSE
It would be difficult to imagine 80 jobs being cut without impacting the Argos. Guess we will need to see, but I have a bad feeling about this.
Re: Job Cuts at MLSE
I expect most of the cuts will involve the Leafs. Hockey operations are very bloated.

Meanwhile, TFC is paying Lorenzo Insigne a reported $15,000,000 a year and not even playing the guy.
This business sucks sometimes.

$15 million USD[/b]. That is Cdn $22 million. What could the Argos do, with even a fraction of that, forgetting salaries because that is cap-controlled, but overall?

Without expansion fees MLS is a house of cards. No TV money because the TV audience isn't there, attendance is okay not great and the gate revenue isn't huge because they can't command high ticket prices other than Miami. I cannot understand how MLSE can pay the team salary they do against incoming revenues and make money on TFC. Make it make sense. Is the league still expanding? And what owners think dropping hundreds of millions of dollars on a team has an ROI on it. The last teams in are going to be in a world of financial hurt.
Make Clemons President!!!

I have never understood how that league is financially viable myself.

I get a chuckle when the Canadian MLS teams play " Beer League" teams each summer in quest of the Canadian Championship. Maybe the Argos can play the GTA Grizzlies for Toronto Supremacy.
