In this thread we praise The TiCats
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
A storied franchise. A team of destiny—just not that kind of destiny.
Since their last Grey Cup win in 1999, the Tabbies have built something far more impressive than just a championship team: they’ve built character.
Winning? Overrated. It is stressful and fleeting. It comes with the unbearable burden of high expectations. But losing just enough to stay relevant while keeping the drought alive? Now that’s art.
The Ticats are the ultimate underdog (undercat?), a team whose loyal fans have developed patience rivaling that of monks. They’ve turned “Maybe next year” into a seasonal mantra, a rallying cry that unites the city more than any parade ever could.
And the city of Hamilton itself? Gritty, resilient, never backing down from a fight. If the Ticats actually won the Grey Cup, what would happen? Chaos. Reality collapse. The city might lose its identity. Would Hamiltonians even know what to do with themselves without the annual heartbreak? I'd say not.
So, while other teams bask in their fleeting moments of glory, Hamilton keeps the streak alive, proving that true strength isn’t in winning—it’s in waiting. And waiting. And waiting…

9,235 days.

But just think of all of the strategic planning you could accomplish in that many days!
Personnel. X's and O's. Parade routes...
The sky's the limit!

The Ticats have won just three Grey Cups in 52 years. That's an astounding figure!

Thought They did a spectacular job on the recent Hammer Grey Cup. I re watch that Green Day half time show often.
Hate to say but I am often jealous of the Ticats. They have an effective Team store, They are primary tenant at their stadium. Their owner is extremely focused on the team. They seem to do things like let the fans walk on the field post game, draft parties etc...I think Ticat Web media is quite good and extensive.
The fans are extremely passionate... I like the atmosphere at the stadium... but I am semi uncomfortable with wearing my ARGO stuff there.
I think you have to be a Ticat fan or and ARGO fan to really appreciate the rivalry.
Grey cup is great but a season is not a complete success unless we also win the Ballard cup... but thats just me... Hopefully we can fix that this year.

I always channel my inner Schadenfreude when it comes to their futility. They have been on the receiving end of four of the worst Grey Cup blowouts in the last 45 years: 48 - 10 in 1980, 47 - 17 in 1984, 45 - 23 in 2013, and 33 - 12 in 2019. I want to give kudos to the person who recently brought a Ticats Suck! sign to a wrestling event in Toronto. May their suffering continue!

Hey the TiCats have one thing the Argos don't. Free EV charging for players. At least they are saving the planet!

What good is winning Grey Cups if you can't save the planet! Oskee E-V!IssuesMcgee wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 12:59 pm Hey the TiCats have one thing the Argos don't. Free EV charging for players. At least they are saving the planet!

How slim are their chances of ending their cup drought this year? Does anyone really believe BLM has another championship season in him? If you were a GM and you could choose any current CFL QB to be your starter, where would BLM fall on your wish list? Can he even lead them to the playoffs?
