There's no doubt the team's NAT depth is lower than it has been, but most of the guys named here were (and will continue to be, I suspect) useful backups/STers. Smith, in particular, and Metchie are huge losses. The rest will be missed to varying extents. I'd have loved to keep most of them, but that's not the way the league works, and it's worth noting that Argos have added some NATs to the roster who will also be useful (and at least one starter).

Dave Ungerer is smaller (5'9" and 171 lbs) and his Pro day 40 was a hand timed 4.63 compared to Jordan's e timed 4.44. And---Ungerer has been a valuable asset to the Argos. I'm not saying Jordan is going to be a huge success from day one but is this another case of CFL folks under estimating the potential of a U Sport WR? They certainly have a history of doing that.

It told me that he is 175cm. I've stood next to him. If he's 5'9" then I'm 6'4" (I am not).argolio wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 11:09 amFor the record, Wikipedia says 5'9".bluto wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 10:22 amBen Cahoon was 5'7"shatto wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 10:56 pm The comments on Ethan Jordan usually note his size ( 5' 10 1/2"and 177lbs) as a detriment. You are a Giant in my eyes argolio.
Re: Combine time
Can't say say I agree with many of the Argo selections in Ferguson's Draft 2.0
I'm ok with #46 Ambers(DB), #64 Ageli(DL) and #72 Tachinski (QB and WR)
Using his draft I would prefer the following:
#7 Ojo instead of Shand -- Ojo will be in camp and could be the future replacement for Smith
#16 Beauchemin instead of Alford --Beauchemin could well be a great replacement for Metchie
#30 Bagnah instead of Doiron --Argos are pretty well set at OL but Bagnah game film indicates some real potential
#37 Von Muelhdorfer instead of Cote-Azore --Argos need help at DL and Von M. has great potential if somewhat raw
The above is a personal and rather subjective opinion but IMO the choices meet the Argo needs better than Ferguson's

Re: Combine time
I like your picks much better than Ferguson's. I really like Marshall as a CFL PBP guy on TSN, but some of his comments on CFL rosters and the draft leave me shaking my head in wonder.shatto wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 11:24 pm Can't say say I agree with many of the Argo selections in Ferguson's Draft 2.0

My Argo hopes:
#7 - either of Findlay or Beauchemin (i bet the Bombers will take Findlay just before the Argos pick though) - big need at safety and either of these rookies could compete for the starter job right away IMO
#16 - either of DTs Von Muelhdorfer (bet he will be gone long before #37) or Nate Martey (starter in Div I ball) - to address a big need again - guy who might be able to play in the rotation right away
#30 - RB K. Yazbeck (Western) - might have trouble making the roster if they carry 3 import RBs, but an explosive RB who could maybe be a ST force like Dan A was
#37 - V. Janusas (receiver - Guelph) - thick body type to add size and blocking power to the receiving corps and might be able to handle H-back duties (if the O decides to use that position a bit more); Guelph has produced several very good CFL receivers lately.
Re: Combine time
The thing I like about Marshall's draft is that 4 Canadian QBs get selected. I hope it comes true.
