To answer the question about Kelly---yes he did appear to be fully participating in the practice. I could not comment on how comfortable he was moving around or what percentage of drills he took but his passing looked fine.

He has enough arm strength. IMO, he lacks the confidence to throw down field. Not that I think he's great, but Matthew Shiltz doesn't have a strong arm, but he loves throwing down field.

Really curious and looking forward to see what shakes out in TC battles at a few spots: D-Secondary, D-Line, and OT in particular.

Thanks to shatto and others able to provide insights & reports - nice to hear individual observations.

Jim Barker on his weekly appearance on the "Rod Pederson Show" on " YouTube" stated that Chad Kelly didn't feel great after practice and believes he will start the season on the 6 Game IL. Also, promising DT Andre Carter who was acquired from Ottawa in the Adebeboye trade has decided he doesn't want to play anymore and is coaching in the States.

Not surprising considering the magnitude of Kelly’s injury.

Jim Barker has been wrong before for what its worth. Although, it is expected for Kelly to not be ready for the start of the season. Don't think it be a shock to anyone if he's put on the IL.

Barkers opinion on the " Rod Pederson" show is similar to what Coach Dinwiddie said on "Sports Cage", which contradicts Justin Dunk suggesting on "3 Down Nation" podcast that Kelly would be ready for game 1 if not sooner. Either way it sounds like Chad has worked hard after that horrific injury that bonded the team last fall, and is not far from returning to the field as the best QB in the CFL.

Some very personal observations of today's T C:
.Looks like Evans in penciled in for Amos and Bratton was playing CB in place of injured Franklin.

.Kelly dressed but did not participate in the workouts.

.New QB Horn seemed to have good velocity on his passes but could not comment on anything else about his play.

.Vyncint Smith WR was not on the field. Suspect like Carter DL, he may be a no show.

. After being injured for nearly all of last season, Ciraco was dressed and fully participating in drills.

. Mital looked to be in great mid season form. He has to be a starter. Not sure how they will keep Brissett and Ungerer off the field. 3 Canadian WRs starting? Surely not.

.Slwka WR saw a lot of action. Don't know if he will make the roster but maybe the PR?

Blackburn was playing at FS until he got a slight ding and then Watts got most of the playing time at FS. Watts was a a 4th round NFL draft choice and has played over 50 games in the NFL. Edouard played at CB. If Blackburn is the starting FS, there appears to be no Canadian backup if he goes down. Sorry to beat a dead horse---but with all the good looking DBs as possible FSs available in the draft, it is surprising the team did not draft one.

A lovely sunny day, not too warm and not too cold. We had a long conversation with Michael Clemons. As charming, personable and pleasant as always. We are lucky to have Pinball. Hope he stays for a long time. I noticed he went to the women and wished then a Happy Mothers day. Great guy.
