The other great news about Chad this spring is that he is becoming a father and a husband, in that order. It’s time for the guy to say goodbye to his frat boy persona, and say hello to the stable family man with five or six good seasons still left in him.

He also does a lot of charitable work in the Toronto area which goes largely unnoticed.

It'd be madness to start him. We have Arbuckle and the luxury of time. Will wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 8:42 am https://3downnation.com/2025/05/11/ryan ... argonauts/

Here are some quotes from Mike Hogan's article about Kelly:
The quarterback has worked hard at rehabbing the injury, but Dinwiddie says that the QB isn’t ready to go quite yet, though he is getting close.
The quarterback has worked hard at rehabbing the injury, but Dinwiddie says that the QB isn’t ready to go quite yet, though he is getting close.
“Two weeks from now, at the end of camp,” the coach replied when asked about a timeline for Kelly’s return to practice. “I don’t want to rush him back.”
Dinwiddie was asked if Kelly has been fully cleared by doctors to return to football activity.
“Not fully cleared,” the coach replied. “We’ve got one more x-ray (to examine), but it’s almost fully healed. We got good results on the last x-ray, and we feel good about it.”
Dinwiddie said after that, two weeks from now, they’ll have a better indication of when Kelly will be able to get back in the lineup, adding that the QB being ready for the season opener in Montreal is “probably 50/50 at this stage.”

If he's ready to go, with no fear of him being at any extra risk than he would be at a later date, you have to start him.bluto wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 10:39 amIt'd be madness to start him. Nick Arbuckle to will start for the Toronto Argonauts in their regular-season opener next week as it remains unclear when Chad Kelly will be cleared to make his season debut.
Kelly is being held off his feet currently with an ingrown toenail. He will X-rays this week to determine whether he will open the season as a short-term backup or on the one- or six-game injured list.

Argos have signed (gasp) Jarret Doege, which suggests (to me at least) that both Kelly and Dukes are likely to start the season on IR.

Dinwiddie said at halftime that Dukes had been injured by that low, late hit by, I believe, Howsare. It must be even worse than they thought.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Tue May 27, 2025 9:19 am Argos have signed (gasp) Jarret Doege, which suggests (to me at least) that both Kelly and Dukes are likely to start the season on IR.
