Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
The release of both Ka'Deem Carey and Kevin Brown is slightly surprising. McMahon is more of a change of pace running back while Miyan Williams is a first year player to the CFL. Jyran Mitchell was added to the PR, however, I wonder if there is a move to come at running back. Both Williams and Mitchell did flash potential in preseason, but it is just that, preseason.
Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
What????? Dukes was cut? Whoever could have seen that coming? I heard there was no chance he would get cut.

Seriously, none of the new receivers are on the active roster, with Turner and Anderson starting on the PR (still can be activated by Friday) it appears the Argos might be starting 3 Canadian receivers which I think is great.

Cameron Dukes outplayed in the preseason, really good guy who served the 2024 Grey Cup team very well.
Wishing him and Carey well!!

Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
Surprised about Carey and Brown. Giving the job to Williams at this point seems premature. Never happy to see someone released, but it is indeed time to move on from Dukes. I’ve never thought he was pro level and many people that thought so were blinded by fandom.
Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
I’m not as surprised about the RB’s. It is the easiest position to replace in football. So many outstanding ones out there waiting for a chance. It is the reason the position is not a highly paid one. Times they have changed. Teams used to build their offence around a RB. Not anymore.ArgoZ wrote: ↑Sun Jun 01, 2025 10:44 am Surprised about Carey and Brown. Giving the job to Williams at this point seems premature. Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
Carey and Brown were not on cheap-o CFL contracts; the rookie RBs would be. That is the major factor at work here, IMO.
Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
Not significantly surprised but I am sorry to see Carey go. I understand (age, contract, etc.) but he had a wonderful personality, was good on the sideline and still a very effective back. But yes, lots of talent at RB and I totally get going with the young guys.
Arbuckle is an excellent #2 but Argos needed someone to do short yardage and I'm thinking they're keeping Doege for that role which means the Horn is the development QB and no space for Dukes.

Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
You did in fact call the Dukes release, a fair training camp competition in which the other QB’s outplayed him.AngeloV wrote: ↑Sun Jun 01, 2025 10:30 am What????? Dukes was cut? Whoever could have seen that coming? I heard there was no chance he would get cut.
