This is true, but I also feel like other major pro sports leagues have levels of turnover that aren't dissimilar to the CFL. It just seems like the CFL gets hit more with this bad rap than anyone.AngeloV wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 2:59 pmWith the way players move in the CFL specifically, you just have to live with it. Unrestricted free agency after 2 seasons in a very low salary cap league, means a lot of player movement.ArgoZ wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 12:59 pmHave to feel for the casual CFL/Argos fan. One year we have an All-Star RB that they’re selling his jersey all around the stadium and next season he’s released in camp. I get the reasoning, but it’s hard to explain to my friends and family. Player turnover is already bad enough. I don’t know a fix really.AngeloV wrote: ↑Sun Jun 01, 2025 10:54 am
I’m not as surprised about the RB’s. It is the easiest position to replace in football. So many outstanding ones out there waiting for a chance. It is the reason the position is not a highly paid one. Times they have changed. Teams used to build their offence around a RB. Not anymore.

I know baseball and hockey have control of players for at least 7 years, that is how they keep salaries down.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 7:28 pmThis is true, but I also feel like other major pro sports leagues have levels of turnover that aren't dissimilar to the CFL. Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
Unless I'm misreading the CFL transaction page, Turner has been moved to the PR and Mitchell has been released. I assume the first move means Grant is going to be available for the upcoming game but the Mitchell move is a surprise.
Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
CFL transactions are always a mystery. Maybe it’s a move to add him to the active roster.

Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
Mitchell was on the practice roster for last week`s game. So why wouldn`t the transactions list him as being added from the practice roster to the active roster if he is truly being added to the game roster for this week`s game. Perhaps the Argos are releasing Mitchell as they are about to bring in another running back, maybe from the UFL since their season ends this weekend.
Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
The transactions page lists Mitchell's status as 'Active Roster', so maybe one of the other backs will be put on one game injury.primetime321 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 8:34 pmMitchell was on the practice roster for last week`s game. I'm betting Mitchell is replacing Williams this week. Wonder if Kevin Brown might be coming back.
The CFL's transaction page is one of many fails on the website. Virtually impossible to discern what some transactions mean.

Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
Paul is absolutely right about the Transaction Page being a fail. In Mitchell's case, the action is DEL but the status is ACTIVE ROSTER. So was he deleted from the PR and moved to Active Roster and if so why not say TRF from Practice Roster to Active Roster? To add to the confusion the Argo roster shows him still on the Practice Roster.
If the CFL tried to make it any more confusing, they couldn't.

Can anyone explain what "Load Management" means on the CFL injury reports?

Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
That's a new one. From what I could gather, players listed as that were players that didn't even dress for week 1. Needing a day off from practice this early in the season after not even dressing for a game doesn't seem to add up.
