I have OBSERVED many Canadians earn the right to start in this league including 2 at QB now. So basically, STFU. The ones that earn the right to start are being slighted by the garbage that you spew.OV Argo wrote: ↑Thu Jun 12, 2025 11:13 amOk; so let me guess (what you have been told/sold/believe); there is absolutely no bias or favortism what-so-ever from the majority of CFL American decision makers towards Canadian talent; when they have roster needs at any position - QB, tailback, corners & D-halfs. MLB, S-OLB - they will always consider Canadians getting to compete at those positions for TC, and never do any pencilling-in of Americans only ???AngeloV wrote: ↑Wed Jun 11, 2025 10:46 pm
And this is rational discussion?.
“And GOB is not determined by birth certificate (IMO) - Walters & co. know the drill there - assume & favor American players.”
The drill? Now I know you have lost all sorts of sensibility. Similar to a couple of years ago when you said they would face ridicule for their peers (paraphrasing) if they played more than the minimum 7. Just plain ridiculous
And this is because the GMs and coaches "just want to win", and have no room for bias or prejudice in their "thinking" - never happen - just like there was never any bias from NFL big-wigs towards black/African American QBs ?
Is that how it works? - you know, just rationally ?

Re: Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Arguably the best team in the league, the Montreal Alouettes are starting 10 Canadians this week
Re: Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Really? Take another look at the charts for week 1 and 2. I count 8 and let’s be honest, Cibasu might have been named a starter, but Spieker took more snaps. Let’s say 8+ Argos started the same
It’s the same this week. Surely you’re not counting the a FB as a starter. That would make 13 on a 12 man offence.
For the record, 1 safety, 1 LB, 2 DL, 1 RB, 1 receiver, 2 OL, and Cibasu, who we all know is not really starting.

The chart shows 10 starting Canadian. AngeloV you are basically an anti-Canadian troll. This forum would be a lot more pleasant if the moderators banned intentional trolling.AngeloV wrote: ↑Thu Jun 12, 2025 2:34 pm

No, I’m honest. I love seeing Canadians earn their place. I support the ratio, and even have said many times Iit should go back to 10.j-ski wrote: ↑Thu Jun 12, 2025 2:47 pmThe chart shows 10 starting Canadian. And again, the depth chart shows 10, but includes the 13th man on O, who might get 5 snaps. He is not a starter. By that philosophy, Brandon Calver was a starter for the Argos quite a bit over the last 2 years. If you want to count that as a starter, knock yourself out. But that would mean 25 starters on O and D, and call me crazy, I don’t think that is allowed. If you were knowledgeable about the league, you would know that. And if you watch the games, you would know Cibasu, another starter gets less snaps than the guy “behind him” on the chart.
It is you that is the troll because you obviously know nothing about what you say.
You just don’t get it. I am giving a counterpoint of view to someone that says there is a bias against Canadians. Even by Canadian coaches and management.
Why don’t you ask Will to ban me? Go ahead. I’d love to see it. Idiot.

The forum won't be the same without you AV.
Re: Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Apparently it would be better. The less anti-Canadians like me is a good thing. It can then become the Canadian propaganda board.

I think your ratio breakdown for Montreal was accurate. I've known you to be in favor of Canadians and the ratio since I joined the forum. But your fate will be decided by Will.

Re: Winnipeg Blue Bombers
FWIW, this wk's Mtl chart shows 10 NATs listed first at their positions, but AV is correct that the FB position is used only in place of a receiver, and rarely at that. That leaves nine, one of which is Cibasu. Watching on TV last week, I never noticed him but perhaps someone who was there was attentive enough to say how often he took offensive snaps. It seems pretty likely that, notwithstanding the chart, Mtl will play eight NATs regularly, not 10.

We thank AV for all of his contributions on this site and wish him well in the future!!!
