I have a feeling that you are correct Paul. If you were to put him on the panel, I think that he would get challenged by Sanchez at the very least. It would make for interesting TV but the exchanges could go anywhere from an analysis standpoint and possibly deteriorate into nonsensical verbal exchanges.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 9:56 am With Willson ripping the league and ripping at least one of his fellow TSN personalities (Nielsen) online, I have to wonder when TSN pulls the plug on this experiment.

Re: Luke Wilson’s Thoughts
Both Muamba and Sanchez played in both leagues and respect each league. They would provide good counter points to Luke's criticisms.
I was looking forward to him on broadcasts, as I thought he had healthy respect for the league. His comments are unprofessional in nature resorting to name calling, pissing in hot sauce bottles (what the hell does that even mean?), and giving far too much credit to the average young NFL viewer into their grasp of nuanced football plays that this is their reason for not watching CFL. Most of the 16 NFL games each week are duds. His criticism comes across not as constructive but combative, and he is pushing fans away and justifying their rejection of CFL football. Yes there were too many penalties, bad line play, but the game was 39-32 and was won on the final play via kick return. Thats exciting and the game had its moments (none of which he gives credit). When he played that couldn't happen as kickoffs went through the endzone. The NFL recognized that was a flaw snd are trying to adjust.
Somebody needs to debate him. Removing him, simply gives him and every other hater the excuse they need to keep on hating.

Re: Luke Wilson’s Thoughts
There is a theory out there that he is just trying to get people talking with his comments. The thought of no publicity is bad.
Not sure if I buy that though.

Re: Luke Wilson’s Thoughts
Not the way he is doing it. Most of his followers are already NFL fans. He's just saying the CFL sucks and gives his laundry list of why with no balance or discussion inside his own echo chamber with his pre existing bias.
I thought he would be fun, and bring a different eye to the game and was excited he wanted to be part of it. He's coming across as looking down his nose at it, and being condescending towards a league that's been around 113 years.

Probably right. Just relaying a theory I have read elsewhere. I mean, why is a former NFL benchwarmer held in such high esteem at the network?

Re: Luke Wilson’s Thoughts
Willson had already been working on TSN doing NFL commentary (for a few years now?),; and he played in the NFL for a long-time (and not just a benchwarmer BTW) = and these are things that a lot of people are all golly gee impressed with up here (see 3 Down and their constant, fawning coverage of any Canadian connection to the NFL) = is what it is, and why a Willson type gets lots of traction and platform in our media. IF this was a former CFL player with only Canadian football roots (let's say a Brad Sinopoli - who did 10x more pass catching production in the pros than Willson), then their would be likely very little respect for the guy, and most wouldn't care of would be dismissive of what he had to say.AngeloV wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 7:57 amScooter McCray wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 6:48 amNot the way he is doing it. Good that Willson is being challenged by some in social media circles (?) for his comments; and I agree with Scooter that he comes across a s a condescending little prick (and if knew he was very mocking or critical of the NFL as well, i might change my mind there)

He didn't like the way the Argos moved methodically down the field for the game-tying points. I thought this was his most ridiculous criticism.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 10:42 pm Both Muamba and Sanchez played in both leagues and respect each league. Re: Luke Wilson’s Thoughts
Argos have thier 2nd string QB working behind a patchwork Offensive Line. Luke wonders why Arbuckle isn't throwing deep ( he did have 2 excellent deep completions btw) and why Saskatchewan managed all those QB pressures? Let's tell the full story.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 1:01 pmHe didn't like the way the Argos moved methodically down the field for the game-tying points. Re: Luke Wilson’s Thoughts
Given the struggles of the offensive line and Arbuckle's limitations as a consistent deep thrower, not to mention Saskatchewan's excellent secondary, the Argos would have been sunk much earlier in the game if they had followed Willson's wills of more deep passing. IMO If Willson knew more about the personnel in the league and strategy of playing Canadian rules football then maybe he could make better evaluations as an analyst (which is what he is being paid for).gilthethrill wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 1:54 pmArgos have thier 2nd string QB working behind a patchwork Offensive Line.
