Interesting to see Sydney Brown on there. Did no team draft him?

Also, Shedeur Sanders.

He was the #3 prospect ahead of the 2023 draft, but nobody selected him. Perhaps, teams knew he was going to be drafted in the NFL, but that hasn't stopped teams from taking a flyer on others in the past.

I suspect the new commissioner decided it was a dumb idea to be so secretive of the neg list. I applaud this move by the league.

I think the next step should be to reduce the neg lists and make more players free to sign wherever.

That is commonplace CFL draft thinking now; teams laying off drafting, at all, guys who are obviously NFL bound. Wasn't the case at all 10 years or more back.

DE Breeland Speeks has been a force in the various spring leagues for the past 3 years, but is 29. DB Willie Drew Jr was on the PR last year IIRC. UFL QBs Jerratt Guarnatano has struggled with a couple of bad teams the past 2 years, while QB Max Duggan has proven he can run, but his throwing skills need work.

I find it pretty shocking that neg lists have been made public as GM's and personnel people have been adamant in keeping them confidential over the years. As one player personnel director told me many years ago, if a player knew that they were on a team's neg list and they didn't want to play for them then their agent would call the team's bluff and try to get them to sign the player immediately. If the team didn't want to sign the player within a certain time period then they were forced to release them from their neg list and they could negotiate with another team.

Allowing an open free agency for players may cause the costs of certain players to go up due to competition among teams, hence the reason behind the current structure of the neg list.

There are many names that stuck out to me on the list some of which others mentioned but two are Derek Slywka's brother Nolan, who is playing his first year at Stony Brook this fall and Junior Bergen, an electrifying player from Montana who was drafted by the 49ers in the seventh round in the NFL draft this year.

In the case of Nolan Slywka, it’s always bothered me that players are placed on neg lists before they are draft eligible. I know he wouldn’t be in the CFL draft, but still, freshmen should not be eligible to be placed on a neg lists. Teams should have to wait for them to declare for the NFL draft before being allowed to do this. Just my opinion.

[ARGO57]

Might be easier to list the players not on CFL negotiation lists.
