Yep; Bo was hot and they have good receivers; but the Argo D was useless basically; they need to make some changes IMO.

Big, big problems on defence. Personnel and coaching. We are paying the price for past success, having lost two defensive coordinators and a dozen or so starting defensive players in the past two years. Since 2021, we had feasted on other teams' free agents and recruited new players exceptionally well. This year, neither of those things seems to have happened.

And don't get me started on the offensive line. Trading Allen set in motion a cascade of problems, it seems.

I don't know if anyone saw Overdrive today, but I'm told Scianitti said Kelly is out until August. He was moving pretty gingerly on the sideline and on the field during warmups.

Oh yeah, fourth-quarter kickoff-return TDs in back-to-back home games? And three consecutive losses at home? Sheesh. Don Matthews must be spinning somewhere.

The soft zone base defence with not good enough pass rush, no smart blitzing, and not that good of a run stopping D, and you're up against a vet QB on his game with good receivers = recipe for disaster. Secondary guys have to make some plays - knock downs or big hits or picks - they were just useless there against Bo on his game - looked like a pitch & catch touch football game.

And trading Allen for a guy just viewed as a 3rd string LB or ST guy makes little sense, especially with the O-line struggles now. Why is Varga not given some shots to see if can makes plays on D like he showed with BC last year? (i like Darkangelo but he is not a strong MLB type IMO); and Blackburn made a nice pick earlier in the season but gets rewarded with little more playing time to see if he can do more of that? And a top draft pick, stud college ball pass rush force like Ojo rates ZERO opportunity to see if can help? Not much faith in Canadian talent for this Argo D it seems - maybe the thinking was the "luxury" of mostly Americans on D was this big formula for success ?

Marshall Ferguson can’t contain his excitement.
He does seem to enjoy the Argos misfortunes. The bye week couldn't come at a better time. I need to step away from this for a while after tonight.
Take care of yourself gill, watching this Argonaut team won’t help anyone’s sanity.

Argos had some significant losses heading into the 2024 season but had the talent and depth to carry on, this season is a totally different story after a good portion of last seasons team also decided to move on.
The talent level and depth simply aren’t there anymore.
Considering the success this team has had the last 3+ seasons I wonder why so many players are choosing to leave this organization, surely finances play a part but you wonder if we are missing something behind the scenes?

Much as we all love Pinball, he is not a GM in any traditional sense of the word. He doesn't recruit and he doesn't sign players. That leaves Murphy and Dinwiddie in charge. One can only speculate but if there was stuff going on behind the scenes to alienate players, it would have to go through those two, would it not?

I suspect so Paul, I’m purely speculating as to why so many players would leave a team that has won 2 Grey Cups (could very well have been 3) in the last 3 seasons, you would think that is a recipe to retain talent.
Pinball is a wonderful guy so I can’t see him being a negative factor, Murphy on the other hand can find talent but may possibly be a challenge to deal with?
