According to CFL.ca Transactions, RB Spencer Brown (or his rights) who was acquired this week for an 8th round pick has been Deleted.

Good thing that pick was conditional, I guess.

I am certain I saw Brown on the practice roster for a day or two and was surprised he was released so soon.

The CFL.ca transactions page only shows him going 'out,' but doesn't show him going 'in.'

It was only his CFL rights that were acquired in that trade. I guess they quickly signed and had a brief look at him - although none of that was officially recorded - and found him wanting?

I suspect the pick only kicks in if he is signed to a contract.

Branden Dozier has been signed. We are now officially scrap-heaping, to use a term from Riderfans. I guess either Milton or Bratton is now on notice.

I wonder if they're looking at Dozier at SAM. When he was released by Hamilton last week, it seemed inevitable that he would end up in Toronto.

That would alter the ratio, since Blackburn is playing there at the moment. With four NAT o-linemen, three NAT receivers and Judge, they'd still have eight starters, but it would slightly reduce flexibility. They were able to swap Herslow in and out freely last game, and occasionally had two INT RBs on the field.

That SAM position is so important that they need someone like Dozier in there. It would have been nice if they could have retained Priester or Adeleke for that position but those ships have sailed plus Adeleke has retired anyway.
