Thanks to all those who worked so hard to make this happen.
This team needs new ownership.

Because they lose money on game days at BMO? Cost to put on game is greater than what they bring in in terms of ticket sales?
Because they expect much, much bigger crowds in those stadiums than they get at BMO. The revenue from a Bomber or Roughrider home game must dwarf the take from an Argo home game.

This arrangement is completely unacceptable and it is an insult to the fans. How about:

. Play the games at York University and expand the seating to 12,000 as has been done before. Since this is a result of the World Cup, that organization should pay the cost.

. Front load the away games and load all 9 home games in the 2nd half of the season

. Give the Argos 2 bye weeks in the first part of the season

. Play the "home games" at neutral sites like Halifax or London

.Or some combination of the above.

The proposal is a money maker for MLSE but a slap in the face for the team's long suffering fans. Could you imagine the uproar if a similar arrangement was made for an NFL team to accommodates a soccer tournament!!!!

Right! I assumed they weren't collecting the revenue from those other teams, but those are Argo "home" games. So Rogers (MLSE) years ago kicked them out of Skydome during baseball playoffs and now are going to collect off their backs and do zero to market team in their home city? Rogers, it seems, have and always will be a$$holes toward the Argos whether they own them or not.

So why are Stewart Johnson and the CFL letting Rogers (MLSE) get away with this? What is the league getting out of this?

That would be wrong. The 2 they played there in 2015 were refunded to anyone that didn’t want to travel, but they weren’t on the schedule to be played there originally. I went to both anyway, but they were not against Hamilton.

Depends on whether Chad Kelly is playing or not.
That’s a good point Rich, also with the amount of player movement from year to year who knows what the roster will look like.
Ultimately that’s why they play the games!

This is a lot of BS just to host what I presume will be soccer teams from countries most people in Toronto have never heard of at BMO.
All of us should rent out our homes for those six weeks to Europeans and South Americans. Take the massive rent, have a nice European vacation and still have enough cash leftover to buy the Argos
I don’t want “soccer guy” anywhere near my home.

For sure. But I don’t think they will be able to charge the same for these games. Nor would they care since the gate goes to the Argos. I can see $20 tickets for these games

3 Down Nation is reporting that these games will.be against the Bombers. Riders and Ticats, respectively so not only does this place us at a competitive disadvantage it benefits those teams at the expense of the other in the league who do not get an extra home game.

In lieu of finding a neutral location, such as Guelph, they could of at least have gone to Hamilton, which is fairly accessible for season ticket holders.

Come on Pinball, this is is a definite FU to Argos fans who would have benefited from BMO upgrades without the indignity of seeing there team get hosed, and to the City of Toronto who are already on the hook for millions of dollars for security costs.
