Chad Kelly
On a recent episode of a podcast called The Victory Degree, Chad Kelly was the guest. Right at the very end Kelly was asked the following question: "Do you genuinely believe that you are better than some of the starting QB'S in the NFL." Chad responds by saying "Well, I do think I'm better? Do I feel like I can throw the ball better than them? Do I feel like I know more than them? I mean, that's not for me to decide. But, I feel like, I can, I'm in the top 32 NFL starting QB'S. I think my resume has spoken for itself." He then cited the success he had against powerhouse teams in the SEC. How do you feel about this?

Re: Chad Kelly
So many people are calling him delusional. I see nothing wrong with the comments. Seriously, if you are not confident in your abilities, you will never be successful in this sport. I also see some NFL starting QB’s that aren’t better than him right now including Anthony Richardson/Daniel Jones in Indianapolis, Joe Flacco in Cleveland just to name a couple of teams starters, so I don’t think he’s wrong. We will never really know to be honest, but there really should be no reason to be upset over his comments.

Re: Chad Kelly
He may well be correct, and I agree that QBs (and all football players) need confidence to succeed, but wouldn't a better answer have been something like, "I believe I'm better than some guys in the NFL, but I'm a Toronto Argonaut and that's my only focus at this point"?
Re: Chad Kelly
I sure wish he'd said that. (Here's the podcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_NT_clCD88 ). He barely mentioned the CFL and Argos at all. I would have hoped for a little leadership here, supporting his current team and not just talking about his future ambitions.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 24, 2025 3:39 pm He may well be correct, and I agree that QBs (and all football players) need confidence to succeed, but wouldn't a better answer have been something like, "I believe I'm better than some guys in the NFL, but I'm a Toronto Argonaut and that's my only focus at this point"?

US based podcast whose host has no interest in hearing about Chad's CFL career.

The guy snapped his leg in two places playing as hard as he could for the Argos. Give him a break.

Agreed. This wasn't meant for a Canadian audience. It doesn’t bother me at all.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Sun Aug 24, 2025 7:54 pm US based podcast whose host has no interest in hearing about Chad's CFL career.
