Toronto placed incumbent Chad Kelly on the six-game injured list Saturday before its 31-17 home win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Thanks, I was looking for that.

And the question remains, how can that be game 1 when he practised that week? It's not permitted until after four games on the list. Again, maybe the league will ignore this.

Are you sure you know all the rules regarding this Paul? If a player gets inured in practice can he not be placed on the 6 game starting immediately, including the upcoming game? A set back would be the same.

I definitely don't know all the rules, but the four-game rule seems pretty well established. It would be hard to make a case that Kelly got MORE injured in practice, necessitating a sudden transfer to the six, but anything is possible in this league.

I have reached out to someone that knows the situation and he confirmed with the team that the first Bombers game indeed counts as game 1 on the 6 game. Has nothing to do with the league looking the other way.

Waiting to see what happens to Makai Polk. He got a tryout with the Bills after a brief look in Washington. Buffalo played yesterday and 14 guys caught passes; Polk was not one of them.

According to this fan site, Ralph Holley might be in tough to make the Browns:

NFL roster-cutdown day is Tuesday.

Only Argo prospect I can see coming north is possibly DE Luigi Villan a former draft pick who was cut by Dallas before the pre season. Wasn't aware Polk had resigned with any other NFL team. I thought Holley had basically made the Browns?

Polk nowhere to be seen on the Bills roster, so I don’t believe they signed him.
The Browns traded a DT earlier this week, so that might be good news for Holley. But, an earlier depth chart is saw this pre season had him listed 7/8 of the 8 (4th) on the right side) DT’s they had in camp.

The axe has fallen on Holley. If he were to return, it could be a huge boost to the defence, obviously, although sometimes guys struggle to reintegrate to the CFL after getting cut down south.

Polk is a longshot to end up anywhere in the NFL. I suspect Holley has a slightly better chance, given that he was a late cut, unlike Polk. I believe we have a better chance of seeing Polk up here this year but I am certainly not banking on it either.
