Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
My hope is that the team is currently negotiating with Vilain to come up here as he is the biggest need at this time being a potentially productive DE and Canadian to boot.
Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
I would rather see Holley back. Not that I don't want Polk, but I would prefer Polk if he returns to do so at the beginning of next season. The receiving core is not a weakness.
Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
The ratio factor is a big one, but we have no idea if he would make a difference, especially coming in late in the season, with no league experience. If Holley were to come back, he and Lanier in the middle would be as good as any DT tandem in the league.primetime321 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 24, 2025 10:32 pm My hope is that the team is currently negotiating with Vilain to come up here as he is the biggest need at this time being a potentially productive DE and Canadian to boot.

Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
There are 4 players who would have to sign with the Argos (or retire) if they don't catch on with an NFL team------Vilain (DE), Wayne (WR), Holley (DT) and Polk (WR). Of that group, Holley is the most valuable since he would provide an instant upgrade to the DL. Vilain could be an asset but for some reason or other, I have the feeling he will wait to see if he can get a contract with an NFL team, when injuries start occurring. Polk would be a good signing but WR is not a pressing need for the team so it is not essential signing. Wayne is an interesting case, in that even if he signs, he might have to start on the P.R. Time will tell.

Re: 2025 Argonauts Roster
It's worth remembering that Polk and Holley remain "property" of the Argos only until this season comes to an end. At that point both become CFL free agents. Getting one or both back on board for the rest of this season would make it easier to re-sign them in the off-season, IMO.

Good point, the last thing we need to see is either of these players sign elsewhere this coming off season.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 2:30 pm It's worth remembering that Polk and Holley remain "property" of the Argos only until this season comes to an end. DB Mark Milton traded to Ottawa for a late round draft pick.

No surprise. He struggled this season, and McFadden is better at that position. Hopefully they can bring in some depth should someone go down. Eduard and Blackburn appear to be the only depth at DB now.ARGO57 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 3:45 pm DB Mark Milton traded to Ottawa for a late round draft pick.
