It is Labour Day already!
Blood will be in the water. This is the first Labour Day game since 2019 where Hamilton is the better team. I know Hamilton has upset Toronto on Labour Day when the Argos were the better team, but I'm not sure I can recall the Argos upsetting Hamilton on Labour Day where the Tiger-Cats were the better team.
Take the over in this game.

The may have a better record, which is what really matters, but I am not convinced they are a better team. They've lost 2 in a row, and if not for a dropped TD pass by the Elks, it would be 3.Will wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 10:51 am It is Labour Day already!

The Ticats defence doesn't scare me.AngeloV wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 11:14 amThe may have a better record, which is what really matters, but I am not convinced they are a better team. It's my contention that the Putty Tats are a bit overrated. They've won a few close games that could've gone either way in addition to the game against B.C where they somehow overcame a 10 point deficit very late in the 4th quarter to win. Plus, they just got hammered in Regina. We blew big leads against Ottawa & Montreal in addition to some other winnable game(s) where we came up short. As much as I hate to admit it, I do think that they are currently a better team, but not by much.AngeloV wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 11:14 amThe may have a better record, which is what really matters, but I am not convinced they are a better team. IIRC, when we played the TiCats at home, we allowed two special team TD's... one on a punt, one on a kick-off. That killed us. Their ace returner, his name escapes me, has been injured so don't know if he will be back, but either way special teams have to step up and not give up huge plays. It would be a bonus if we could turn the tables by having some big returns ourselves.
The other thing that comes to mind from the last meeting was that we did not get any real pressure on Bo Levi Mitchell. He was able to stand back and wait for Kenny Lawlor to get open on some long routes, which are much harder for our secondary to defend. So getting pressure on BLM is another key... get him out of the pocket and unsettled, where he is much less effective.
The offense has not been a problem, so if they can play as they have been, the Argos can hold their own in that department. And if Spencer Brown has anything like the rushing game he had against BC, that would be a bonus.
IMO, those will be the keys for winning on Labour Day. All doable. Go get 'em. Go Argos.

It was pretty heated when these two teams played last, so I'm expecting a good old-fashioned barn burner.

Les Tigres are coming off the bye, but the Argos will have had 9 days off. Polk back, Holley may be close to being back, Chaz Kelly getting healthier, and Arbuckle playing legit football....if they win ĹDC, and go into their bye and get even healthier with Hunter back and others all of a sudden and just like that Rod Smith we have ourselves an interesting fall in store.

Get Bo frazzled early and he will be ordinary. He was playing out of his body in the last game with those exact throws to Lawler that were actually defended decently.

Five guys who DNP both days so far: Daniels, Doxtater, McMahon, Slywka, Vandal. O-line could be mighty thin on Monday.
