But Brissett very dumb. Almost blew it.
Easy for anyone to say from their couch. If you legit think you are going to score, nothing is stopping you to go for it at that moment. They already had a bad snap/hold combination on the previous FG attempt.
Seriously?

Every person watching the game and in the stands knew that there were only twelve seconds remaining.

Enough time for two plays. A long pass and a field goal. Make the catch and fall down or go out of bounds. No need to score a touchdown.

Polk was scolding him for the stupid play.

Watching the play over again, if I am not mistaken, the trailing ref signalled a TD. Because Brissett did break the plane of the goal line. So if he hadn't have stepped out, we would have won by a larger margin.

But.... he should have gone out of bounds. That was the smart play.

Back in February when news leaked out that Brent Monson might be signed as the Argos defensive co-ordinator, was anyone else out there besides me a bit excited at the prospect?

Now.... not so much.

Have you ever been in that situation? Guessing not. Like I said, easy to say from your couch, but when you believe in your mind you have a sure TD, as I'm sue he did, you are not going to step out. Stop acting like you would have done it differently if it was you, because you would never know that, even though you think you do.

I think Calgary is happiest of all that he is no longer there.

I think Brissett’s decision to try and score was foolish, selfish and undisciplined. Obviously he defied Coach’s instructions to go down before the clock ran out, and that can’t be justified by invoking some uncontrollable football instinct that he may have experienced. He is a professional after all.

And he is lucky. This would have been one of the worst game-losing blunders in Argos history.

But it’s about time that Karma starts bending our way in 2025. I thought Bo was celebrating way too much with 18 seconds left. The football gods have spoken!

Argos win a thriller in Hamilton, on Labour Day, and some fans here are griping about a mistake that didn't matter. Never change, Argofans.com.

Lost is the fact Brissett made an incredible catch while draped by two Hamilton defenders but I guess that makes him “foolish, selfish and undisciplined”.
A second from disaster but what if’s don’t really matter at this point.

1. Spencer Brown with 90 yards rushing and 64 yards receiving. He also severed as a valuable safety valve for Arbuckle throughout much of the game. It goes without saying that there needs to be another RB dressed, however, I'm confident that the Argos have found a starting RB for the rest of the season.

2. Nice to see Makai Polk return to the lineup and not appear to miss a beat with 6 catches for 64 yards and a touchdown.

3. Bo and the Ticats offence appear to have picked on the inexperienced Hood and Drew.

4. Secondary still needs to be much, much better.

Yeah. Complaining for the sake of complaining.
