Talk about drama! Obviously, the Argos had no business winning this game. The playoffs are a definite possibility at this point. I want to talk about RD. After four years of winning football, I've resisted the temptation to question his in game decision making. Let's start with the turnovers on downs. Two times we were in scoring territory with a yard to go. The first time, the handoff was roughly five yards behind the line of scrimmage. The second time, we again handed the ball off well behind the line of scrimmage (almost as far back as the first attempt). I don't understand the need, with a yard off the ball, to start the run so deep in your backfield on short yardage. Something needs to be done to improve our efficiency in these situations. Now to the challenge. This particular challenge, on the spot of the ball, which was surrounded by a mass of humanity, is a long shot at best. You might even say it was a waste of a challenge. Later in the game, there were two instances where we were unable to challenge a possible PI call, especially the Herslow one. As for his conduct at the game's conclusion, I'm not giving him a free pass. According to 3DN, he had an issue with Maxie and possibly Jordan Williams. Fine, take up with them if you want. Instead, he decided to make dramatic gestures right by the Edmonton bench, with the predictable scuffle ensuing. To me, he once again allowed his emotions to to get the best of him, embarrassing himself and the Argonauts organization. Also in the 3DN article, RD called the Elks a pretender (maybe this is one of his favourite words), who "like to talk a big game and don't show up on game day." He added "those guys can enjoy the off season." If the Elks, at 5-8 are a pretender, what does that make the Argos with the same record? As for the offseason, he shouldn't be thumbing his nose down at the Elks when his own team is in a similar situation as far a playoff berth goes. I don't think running your mouth off after being so fortunate to come up victorious goes over very well.
As Ravi said, Dinwiddie's record speaks for itself and football is an emotional game. The team has its back against the wall and every game is a must win. It's basically an early playoff run right now.
Personally I think it's hilarious. That kicking motion he was doing at the Edmonton bench was one of the funniest things I have seen on a football field in a long time.

Dinwiddie's career record speaks for itself. On the two gambles, the issue was the blocking and execution rather than the playcalling IMO. You could blame him on the challenge but I understand why he did challenge there. He wasn't calling the Elks as a team a "pretender"; he was saying that in reference to Jordan Williams.
Football is an emotional game. There was apparently a lot of chirping going on, especially by the Elks. I don't have a problem with Dinwiddie and Doege giving it right back to them at game's end.
You're right about the pretender quote Ravi. I obviously misinterpreted.it. Thanks.
And, to be fair, it sounds like Dinwiddie agrees with you (re: playcalling) as he wasn't happy with his own in the first half.
as was mentioned last home game.... really a great atmosphere and positive vibe at our game yesterday.... was really nice to get to see and speak with some of my favorite Die hard fans.... we are all different but just want the best for our league and the ARGO's. Fall games at BMO are always amazing.... Stopped by the Tail gate and it is really is a happening .... Hope we can get everyone out for the next couple games as they are essentially play off games at this point... Need everyone out... its time to #PullTogether ....Go ARGOS !!!

I thought that the defense played well yesterday. The 30 points in the 'PA' column are not all on them because the Elks scored some of these points on a shorter field, but the got pressure on Fajardo and contained Rankin for the most part.

Wow.
Arbuckle looked like he couldn’t handle the pressure of Kelly’s possible return and tried to force a lot of throws that weren’t there today. Not sure when the last time a team threw 4 picks won a game. Probably in the 70’s when QB’s threw more INT’s than TD’s.
I thought the defence was great today. 20 of the 30 points came off picks and short fields.
I love what Slywka has done in this his rookie year, but I think Braxton needs to stay at safety.
Fantastic job stopping Rankin today. Take away his 15 yard run, and he was 11 for 12. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Kelly has to start next week regardless of Arbucke’s health. But an injury make it a convenient choice.
I wouldn't be surprised if Tom Clements threw 4 INTs in a game and still won in the 1980s.
Kelly has to be healthier than Arbuckle at this point which should make the decision an easy one.
With Montreal on the verge of beating the Riders tonight, that's another must-win for the Argos on Friday.
I found a few examples of this through research:
J.C Watts threw 4 interceptions in a Rough Riders win over the Stampeders in 1981. He also accomplished the same feat in a Rough Riders win over the Ticats in 1983.
Warren Moon threw 4 interceptions in an Eskimos win over the Ticats in 1982.
Gerry Dattilio threw 6 interceptions in the season opener against the Argos in 1982, and that was a game where Argos had to score late in the 4th to salvage a tie.
I'm sure there are others, but my QB logs is only current from 1980-1984 right now.
I don't get why Edmonton ran on first down in the 4th quarter when Rankin had been so ineffective. 2nd and long is not Fajardo's strength. Very old-school (dare I say GOB) play calling. Then when they fell behind, they passed on 1st down which led to a go ahead FG prior to our miracle winning drive.
Who knows how this season will end, and no doubt we all thought we'd have more wins, but I gotta give credit to this team for not having any quit in them.
