Especially when Doege only had one real practice leading up to his one start. The Argos need to get a better read on Doege over these final two games.AngeloV wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 8:16 amYou really think his 1 career start tells the coaches what Doege can and can’t do? I don’t see it that way.shatto wrote: ↑Mon Oct 06, 2025 11:11 pm It has been reported Doege is going to start in the next game. Granted Horn is also supposed to get some playing time. But why is Doege playing at all? The coaches know what he can and can't do. IMO, this is truly a dumb coaching decision. Duggan and Horn should be the QBs for the next two games, in order to evaluated them for next year. Dinwiddie has made some questionable personnel decisions this year (trading Allen for Varga for example) but not concentrating the evaluation on Duggan and Horn is an example of another one.

I feel similarly, AV. Changes need to be made as in every off-season but this team isn't that far off.AngeloV wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 12:54 pmOrimilade for Judge. No problem with that trade. You get an all star Canadian at a usually manned American position in Judge. Fair trade for both sides.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 12:41 pmThis past winter and off season, it was amazing how the organization let the D-Line leave. They traded Orimolade for Judge. They knew all along that was happening. They also knew Holley was going to the NFL. Why let all of the other pieces get poached in FA? That was the best D-Line in Canada and it is beyond reasonable expectation to expect anything other than what happened. Maybe they thought they would have Kelly playing and the team would win every game in a track meet. In hindsight it blew up in their faces.

They focused on re-signing Ceresna. Unfortunately he has his roots now in Edmonton, so that wasn’t happening. Robbie Smith. Would you have paid him 250k? I wouldn’t have.
Parrish really started slowly this year, but I think has picked it up. Chatfield’s sack numbers are down since the first third of the season, but I think is still playing well. They didn’t have the depth to overcome injuries to Cox and Christmas. IMO, Pelley and Correa are useless and need not be brought back.
At the end of the day, I feel it was just a really down season. I am not panicked about the future.

I don’t know about that Ravi, I think there is some significant work needed on this roster.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 3:35 pmI feel similarly, AV. We also need to see the list of current Argonaut players who are eligible for free agency this off season.

Just another bizarre episode in a bizarre season.
And a team that outright cut T. McFadden last year, only to bring him back and he gets proclaimed their best DB. ??? And the shuffles and repeated weak play in the D secondary - receivers so often wide-open or making deep catches - was not fun to watch (but reminded me lots of the $hite RedBlacks secondary of the past number of seasons).
All sorts of questionable to laughable decisions have been made by the D gurus of the past couple of years (and while acknowledging that the D was a part of a GC win team last year, it cannot be ignored they gave up close to 500 passing yards to a Dru Brown / RedBlacks offence in the an East play-off game last season and got doubled in time of possession that game = that just does not happen to anything close to approaching a strong football defence.)
It could be that HC RD is over-taxed being HC and OC and defers pretty well all D decisions (personnel & schemes) to his DCs; not working out IMO and maybe time to hire a new, fresh thinking DC (not a same old, recycled CFL guy). We shall see.

Not disagreeing with this. Just hoping for a different outcome. I'm sure Ed Rogers never gives the Argos a second thought except when lamenting how he will never own an NFL team. And Keith Pelleys time is mostly spent on the other teams, but the fact he was past President and he did sort of have an Argo press conference last month gives me hope that he understands the screw job he is giving the football team next year, and wants to make it up to them somehow.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 3:07 pmChances of this are slim at best, I'd say.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 12:41 pm With MLSE making CFL bank playing 3 home games away in 2026, I hope they reinvest a chunk of that back into the team. I'm curious about his relationship with Pinball. I cant see many not getting along well with him.

If Kelly is good to go 110% in Game One in 2026, I share your optimism. The entire season will be played with a giant middle finger attitude of ...6 home games? Playoffs? Grey Cup? Just watch.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 1:08 pmI would have like to have seen Brinkman in the interior along with Lanier. Chad Kelly absolutely outplayed Brown in the ESF last year. Absolutely.OV Argo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 6:17 pmRichK wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 2:23 pm When the season began some of us believed that Jordan Williams was going to be a stalwart on the interior. Kelly was routinely able to get the ball to the endzone quickly so it's no wonder Ottawa had so much possession time.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 8:01 pmChad Kelly absolutely outplayed Brown in the ESF last year. For sure - and you would expect that from a far superior QB talent; the Argo D also made some big plays later in the game. Point still is - giving up close to 500 passing yards and getting doubled in time of possession is not a sign of a good defence - no how, no way. And the D this year got far worse.
