Let's get the Riders 1st place was the last few minutes I guess.

Not that I'm bitter.

When do you ever see that happen? There was no clear and obvious error there. What a joke. I am still livid.

I looked at it again. Coan's bum was down by contact with the ball short of the 31 yard line. What the Replay Centre saw will forever be a mystery.

You never see a re-spot of a few inches. Ever. But I guess that's par for the course this season.

Impressed with the Argos buy in during this game. Some good effort all around but frustrating they didn't get a better result.

I loved seeing the Argos lining up with a TE tonight, it gave me flashbacks to a happy childhood. It really helped protect the QB at times, coach should have used it more this season.

The Good: I think some players showed well tonight that build the foundation for next year. Darkangelo had a strong game. I like Casey too - he has good versatility. QB play was good. Doege showed grit and toughness, and considering that he’s the third string QB played well. Horn came in and did well with his snaps too. Great kicking game.

The Bad: The running game……. still. Which leads to OL play. Needs to be an area of concern to address next season. DL needs upgrading too. The kick return game has been a struggle all of this year. Lost too many depth players from years past that shone on specials. Sucked to see Giffen go down again. Can he be counted on to stay healthy for future years?

The Ugly: No doubt - Command Center. There was NOTHING CONCLUSIVE to overturn the third down spot. That’s supposed to be the role of replay - to fix obvious mistakes. Instead the Command Center decided to make the call. Just awful. No transparency either. Stuff like this needs more fixing then the other items that will be in play next year. I would also argue that there was nothing conclusive to overturn the call on the field for the RTP penalty late in the game on the interception, but that one at least has more merit to debate (and even that is a debate, as opposed to “conclusive”).

Argos put up a good fight, but didn’t have the talent needed to win last night. But there are several pieces (receivers, QB, LB, DB, K, P) that can be the foundation for 2026.

It’s calls like this that make the CFL look bush league, funny thing is the team that benefited from this call has a fan base that regularly complains that the league gives MLSE and the Argonauts all the breaks….guess not?

A better game than I expected. Some highly personal observations:
.Doege showed courage and tenacity under fire-- BUT-- he should never have been allowed to return after the hit to his head. It was a meaningless game and his health should have been the first concern.

.Horn looked very promising in the one drive he conducted. Would like to see more of him.

.Darkangelo and Casey performed very well and either could be a starter in the future

.Hood had problems. Don't see him being around next year. Pity, because he has a compelling history as a young man.

.Giffen looked fairly good until the inevitable--injured again.

.The OL and the running game have to be a priority in the off season.

.The review and re-positioning of the ball call, was a joke. How the Command Centre made that call is beyond me.

. The DL looked better but it still had trouble getting to the QB. There will have to be some changes for next year.

The TSN panel talked pre-game about how the Argos had nothing to play for and were already looking to book their trips to Cancun. Nonsense. I was really impressed with the team's grit and intensity in this game, and they gave the Riders all they could handle. The defense which has been much maligned played well overall, limiting Saskatchewan to 4 field goals. The offense was effective, albeit without any kind of running game to speak of. I believe the rookie receiver Dorian Anderson mis-timed his jump a bit at the goal line, otherwise we could have scored a touchdown on our last serious drive and taken the lead. Similarly on the very next play, if Doegge makes that short pass to Polk, the drive gets extended and again we might get a chance to score.

I agree with others that the replay centre should never have overturned the ruling on the field on that third down.

My biggest complaint is that coaching staff kept sending Doegge back in, after several hits to the head. Player safety should have taken precedence IMO. If the plan was to allow both Horn and Duggan to get game reps over the last two games, why not put them in?

Riders were fortunate to get the win and thus secure home field for the playoffs. They are going to need it. They hardly look like the dominating team their record suggests.
