John Candy Documentary on Prime

I watched the critically-acclaimed John Candy documentary on Amazon Prime last night. I can't recommend it enough. There is quite a bit on his ownership of the Argos, including an interview with longtime Argos o-linemen Kelvin Pruenster, who grew close to Candy in his final years.

The city of Toronto had a great opportunity to rename Yonge and Dundas Square to John Candy Square and blew it.

I know Candy had a doc that focused on the Argos a few years ago but you can still feel his passion for the team even if the Argos segment was minimal. Not being told of the sale really must have hurt him.

Great documentary, thanks for the reminder! I was too young to appreciate the whole "Johnny Toronto" thing in 91 but that was an interesting aspect to him owning the Argos and being the toast of the town. I really liked how down to earth Candy seemed to be in spite of his success!
