Anthony Vandal has signed with Montreal and will join former teammate Sage Doxtater there.

It should be noted that Montreal starting C Justin "Don't call me Joey " Lawrence suffered an injury in the season opener.

now up to 7and1 and am giving serious respect to the Als, from an Argos&CFL fan.
Alexander has that gonna-win-regardless Doug Flutie attitude IMO.
Maas has really advanced as a HC, and their play-calling is topnotch.
Throw in a running game, very knowledgeable Def.Co-ord and excellent receivers, the Als are the
best team in the CFL over 1st 9 weeks of 2026, IMO.

Best team in the East by a substantial margin at this time, the only caveat is Alexander’s hamstring which seems to be a constant aggravation.

Not how you start. How you finish. We learned that the hard way in 2023 and the Alouettes learned that the hard way in 2024.

Evaluation based on the present, who knows how it will play out?
