I get the sense the Argos weren’t all in on retaining Dinwiddie reading between the lines on his interview with Dunk.argolio wrote: ↑Thu Nov 06, 2025 3:49 pmThat would be a terrible trade.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 9:23 pm Dru Brown to Toronto and Kelly to Ottawa? Probably not, but not out of the question IMO.
He knew the Argos couldn't offer him the GM position.ArgoGabe22 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2025 10:53 pm https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/article/argonaut ... dinwiddie/
RD didn't even give the Argos a chance to counter or match. Sounds like the team was willing to offer something to him.
TBH I’m not all that bent out of shape that he left, having said that I think Keith Pelley is a clown the way he seems to be doing business.
I respect Dinwiddie for not even trying to get the Argos to counter offer, it is “bad business” to go through the full interview process and use an offer to up the ante with your current employer.
There are too many indicators that the Argos have returned to being a half assed organization that is being run on the cheap which doesn’t bode well for the on field product.
Two years ago the best football ops department, now a skeleton staff (at best).
I love the Pinball as much as anyone but he isn’t a General Manager, as many on here have previously stated he should be elevated to a senior management role.
I suspect Vince Magri would have stayed in Toronto if he was elevated to General Manager and now Dinwiddie has also moved on, can’t keep letting good football people go elsewhere and maintain a good program, simply won’t work.
