Sad news just announced by Mike Hogan.

Peter Martin was a LB for the Argos in the 1960's, was the team's color analyst for years, and remained involved with the alumni association.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Very sad news. I never met him, but everyone I know that had, said nothing but good things about him. A True blue Argo and great ambassador for the team. May he R.I.P.

The last interaction I had with Mr. Martin (I 'd met him a couple of times previously) was a few years ago outside BMO Field. We talked about a book he had been interviewed for, titled "A Slip In The Rain." He said that he was sick and tired of talking about the McQuay fumble (who could blame him?). I grew up with him and Bob Bratina calling Argo games on the radio. He was a wonderful representative for the Toronto Argonaut Football Club. RIP

Bob Bratina and Pete Martin were the sound of the Argonauts in the early 1980’s, always enjoyed listening to the post game show on radio driving home from the games with my dad.
When you think of the Argonauts you think of both Pinball Clemons and Pete Martin, incredibly sad new indeed.
Rest in Peace!

Peter Martin was part of my formative years in becoming an Argo fan, especially with the many TV blackouts that the team had. I did not attend a game until I was 11 years old but up until that time, he was a major connection to the team for me as he was omnipresent on Argo radio broadcasts with a few different PBP guys. I even audio taped some of the games back then to playback later. As an avid Argo fan, I will never forget his contribution in helping to form my love for the team.

RIP Peter

Mike Hogan wrote this very poignant tribute to his friend.

That was a great write up by Hogie. I teared up reading it, I can’t imagine what he went through writing it.

I never met Pete. But like many others grew up listening on the radio (car, at work, at home) with him and the many other co-hosts over the years. Always enjoyed listening to his calls, insight. He was without a doubt one of the true blue Argos and dedicated most of his life in association with the team in one capacity or another. He will be missed.
I had the good fortune while attending Western University in the mid 80s of meeting one of his daughters Cindy. Very nice family. My condolences to his entire family on at this difficult time.
Make Clemons President!!!
