I'm sure Pelley will take him out for a nice dinner if he hasn't already.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 9:22 am Miller is a good person and a good coach who deserves this opportunity. Now the question is, will the org give him the conditions to succeed by letting him hire a good coaching staff, beefing up the football ops dept and aggressively filling holes in the roster? He's already behind the 8-ball in 2026, with just six home games. MLSE better pony up for a solid overall org or he will have little chance of succeeding in Year 1.

Melonville's Beef & Booze is a good spot. Great hire. This was the one I wanted. It should mean Kellys staying. The offence has an opportunity to be great next season.IssuesMcgee wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 12:30 pmI'm sure Pelley will take him out for a nice dinner if he hasn't already.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 9:22 am Miller is a good person and a good coach who deserves this opportunity. Good press conference. Very humble man. I believe the Argonauts are in good hands. Chad Kelly was at the press conference.
On a side note the backdrop used behind Clemons and Miller had the Argo boat logo and Bell logo on it. Does Bell have anything to do with ownership any longer? MLSE and small stake by Tannenbaum only with Rogers 100% in MLSE since July 1. Odd that they would promote their largest competitor and bitter rival like that. 5 months into their tenure.

I am not sure the ownership change is 100% complete. Maybe Bell is remaining as a sponsor?Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 3:36 pm Good press conference. Very humble man. I believe the Argonauts are in good hands. Chad Kelly was at the press conference.

Yeah - they could then have Johnny LaRue hosting "street beef" afterwards with some Argo fans getting to vent their frustrations with the team & league.
In all seriousness though Sammy, Miller is IMO a promising new HC (and so much more refreshing than a CFL same old recycle job like LaPo or clown-show Jonestown). Be interesting to see the type of offence he runs being fully in charge - hope it's lots more of the downfield passing game with Kelly throwing deep or intermediate shots, but also get back to some run game balance (someone needs to ask the new HC what was up with the RB / ground game decisions last year and also the O-line problems). His D coaching hires might be key as well - any new blood or just recycling ?

Street Beef was an underrated show. The Christmas episode was classic. RIP Johnny La Rue. Your Argos are coming back strong. Enjoy the games from the best seats in the house.OV Argo wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 5:20 pmScooter McCray wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 2:27 pmMelonville's Beef & Booze is a good spot. Great hire. Excited for the new blood, just like 5 years ago when RD was hired. We will find out who is the better QB whisperer in the CFL East in 2026...Dinwiddie with Dru Brown or Miller with Kelly & Arbuckle.

Another solid move adding John Hufnagel as a senior advisor, the guy knows how to run a successful organization.
As I’ve always said love that Pelley guy, what a visionary!!!

I guess rumours of Argo football ops being in complete disarray were exaggerated.

They have been in disarray, but Pinball was not going to keep it that way for long. Good to see Michael Clemons front and centre at the press conference and having a large part to play in the Miller hire.argolio wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 7:00 pmPelley -- lol!ARGO57 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 6:35 pm Another solid move adding John Hufnagel as a senior advisor, the guy knows how to run a successful organization.
