Apparently the league has pulled the plug in its long-running fan forums at forums.cfl.ca - according to this post from one of the moderators.

I hope they had a better reason than "we're tired of people complaining about the rule changes."
I hadn't posted much there recently but there were many lively discussions over there. Makes me appreciate argofans.com and the generally even-tempered, thoughtful discussions over here even more.

Re: CFL has shut down its fan forums
Interesting. I used to frequent those forums but I can't remember the last time I went there. Other than this one, the only ones I go to are riderfans (as an occasional contributor) and morningbigblue (as a lurker, for the most part).

Re: CFL has shut down its fan forums
I stopped going there when I realized the moderators would ban people for having certain opinions, but I'm sure they faced pressure to do so given the CFL name and logo was all over the site.
Still unfortunate to see. Hopefully an independent CFL forum will emerge.

Update: The admins of the previous CFL forums have set things up at https://discourse.cfl.forum

Probably the new commish was getting too much criticism with the new rule changes. That forum has been going since 2006
A lot of Ticat fans won't be happy, they seemed to dominate that site.

Hard to believe the CFL would have much editorial say to a site where some mods were american wannabe types and banned or censured people with strong Canadian football purist type views? - but maybe - Commish Stewie B was an editor before he got promoted ?
Like any forum (I guess?), you had to wade thru all kinds of stuff to find some intelligent or original views on the CFL, and IMO that was tough sledding = all kinds of ignorant clowns, football fairy tale believers and total homer cry-babies there. Gave up bothering to read there in fairly short order.
Re: CFL has shut down its fan forums
It has run its course. No league should have a public forum on their site where complaining and negatively seem to be the sole purpose. Not the best advertising. The same people posting their political agendas or anti Americanism was nauseating. There’s plenty of fan forums and the CFL forums look like they are continuing on Reddit and discord.
