It should be noted that according to 3 Down Ridernation...I mean 3 Down Nation, Ciraco was due a whopping $20G offseason bonus. The Parish release surprised me only because 2 less productive DE's, Demarcus Johnson & Greg Reeves are still on the roster.

Also proving CFL contracts often aren’t worth the paper they’re written on, some good players league wide getting released strictly due to roster bonuses.

Hamilton cut Wolitarski who was due a 10G bonus. That makes the league look so Micky Mouse it's embarrassing.

I think that Ciraco was getting released regardless. He clearly fell out of favour last season. I am a little more surprised with the Parish release. He struggled in the first half of the season but I thought he was better in the second half.

Happens in the NFL too. Sometimes younger and cheaper wins out as teams try to find more money for free agency.

Parish release was a little surprising. Perhaps the new coaches after viewing game film, just thought they could get someone better. Does that mean the team may go after a free agent DE?

I guess the only difference is NFL players are making “life changing” money.
When CFL teams are cutting players to avoid $10k or $20k bonuses it really looks Mickey Mouse.

I think you are seeing the byproduct of a totally new management team and coaching staff making these player evaluations which IMO isn’t a bad thing at all.

I suppose the fact Wolitarski didn't record a stat last season also factored in to him getting cut. As for Ciraco, I don’t know why his play diminished so much last year. It seemed obvious he wasn't in the teams plans. 3 Down seems to focus on the bonus as to why the moves were made.
