A well deserved honor as Ricky holds most (if not all) franchise records for QB's.
I still wish they'd get a few of the 1991 era players up there, but can understand if they want to highlight Ricky exclusively.

I hope they do the ceremony while the Elks are in town. It would make sense if Ricky was informed a bit earlier to see if he's available. If he only learned shortly before us, might be harder to pull off.

It is scheduled for the 28th against Montreal.
I am sure the organization discussed it with Ricky prior to it being announced,

Summed up so well by Pinball.
Ray was so humble and unassuming for a player of his stature.
A well deserved honour!

He'll be remembered by most as an Edmonton Eskimo, but his highest level of play was in Double Blue.
70%+ completion percentage. Efficient and deadly. The 4th quarter comeback king.
My favorite personal memory of Ricky was after the GC win in Ottawa the partying in the hotel was noisy into the night(we stayed on a floor with lots of the team on it). We went down to exit through the lobby later that night/morning to have a victory cigar outside.
There in the corner of the lobby on a couch with his kid laying across him is the GC winning quarterback, story book open, reading softly.
Ray looks up and sees us and has the smile of the most pure satisfaction and contentment that I've ever seen on a man's face. Obviously we didn't offer anymore congratulations than a smile and a nod from across the room which he returned.
