Winnipeg has home games left against Hamilton, SSK, and Montreal. Their away game is against Edmonton. Their record is 7 and 7, and they are tied with BC.
BC has home games against the Argos, Calgary, and Edmonton, and an away game against SSK. If Rourke continues playing well, it is likely they will win at least 3 of those games.
The Argos are 5 and 9 so the Argos have to win 2 games and Winnipeg and BC loose 2 games for them to be tied going into the last 2 weeks.
The way this season has gone for all the teams makes it pretty hard to predict what the final standings will look like. I think you are right. It will depend on how Winnipeg does the rest of the season that will determine if the Argos make the playoffs.
I just took a look at the current standings and remaining schedule and tried to do a quick analysis to determine a path for the Argos to make the playoffs. At this point, I am resigned to believe our best hope is to hold on to third place in the East and prevent the crossover. I just don't think it is realistic that we will end up in second. I had originally assumed that Sask and Calgary would be 1 and 2 in the West, but with Calgary's QB injuries and B.C.'s sudden resurgence, that is no longer a given. I am also assuming Ottawa doesn't suddenly have a late season resurgence either.
But regardless, in order for us to prevail, we need to have a better record than the 4th place Western team. So as I see it, as far as the Argos go, they must win 3 of their last 4 games to have any chance. Then, as hard it might be to stomach, Argo fans have to cheer for Hamilton to beat Winnipeg, for Ottawa to keep losing, and for the Western teams to beat up on each other in one way or another. If Sask and Edm can beat Winnipeg, that will help. There are many different possible permutations but I think if we end up with 16 points, we have a shot.

Actually, the third-place Eastern team gets in if it has the SAME record as the fourth-place western team. So the situation, while certainly grim, is not quite as dire if Toronto had to end up with a better record than Wpg.

But Chris Streveler completed 3 passes yesterday Paul.
All Ottawa had to do was not beat themselves but they managed to do that in spectacular fashion.
2 major reasons.
1) The "best kicker in all of football" sucks.
2) Dru Brown continues to struggle when pressured. I don't think his read progression is very good. Take the first one away and he struggles. I would say 90% of his INT's are due to this and then panic throws off his back foot.
But AV, Brown threw for 406 yards. 406 yards!

Thanks for that clarification... I wasn't thinking of that, but that does make things a little better.

There is still no room for error. Winnipeg has 2 wins on us with 4 games left. In BC the way Rourke is playing we need our first string offence on the field. Shoot them up, duct tape them. Whatever, this the season here. Gut up time.

After the Bombers demolished a Ticats team that seems to me to be fading, the Argos must now win out and have one of Calgary, Winnipeg or BC lose out. Edmonton also cannot overtake the Argos. Calgary may be the best target for the Argos at this point given that they are slumping and the Argos play them in Toronto's final game but nobody can deny that this is all a longshot.

Argos 2025 season is lost.
It was lost in those games where the lead was given up in the final 5 minutes.
The summertime loss at home to the RedBlacks was unforgiveable.
On the bright side, at least 2025 Argos were competitive, and most games were entertaining and in-doubt until very late.
No embarrassing blowouts like the Ticats coughed-up in Winnipeg today.

The 2025 Argos are not the 2018-19 Argos. This year's team can compete with anyone. Finishing games has been the problem.

I agree. This was not a bad team. Almost every game has been entertaining and the winner in doubt until the end. I am 100% convinced if Kelly was healthy, there 5-10 record would be reversed.
As for the Ti-Cats, they just rolled over as an FU to their hated rivals.

At this point I think Montreal is the team to beat in the East.
