None of the GOBs interviewed even mention Senecal or Desjardins by name. Evan Hillock won a Vanier as well and has put up strong passing stats, but I guess he's a GOB write-off ? Why did Dinwiddie bother mentioning O'Connor when the guy is still out there playing QB for Canada's National team ?
Rourke has the Div I resume, and Elgersma has a sort of NFL stamp of approval now from playing in the Senior Bowl. It's the accomplished and dual threat type U Sports QBs who will continue to be dismissed from real CFL TC try-outs by the GOBs while they continue to drag every American QB they can find up here for actual TC looks. Same old B$ and clowns like Dunk or Abbott or Naylor just don't get it or don't want to admit it.

The real BS part is that Hodge and Abbott said Senecal or Desjardins were not good enough in their last podcast. I guess they are just fishing for clicks.

Yeah, well all those CFL "reporters" are going to be GOB dupes who just parrot what CFL expert & shills tell them. The not quite "good enough" stuff has been the GOB standard refrain for decades now, and like I said it was zero surprise to me to hear those two 3 Down guys bleat the B$ like good little sheep - that's what they were told and they don't want to rock the boat of the business they are associated with and covering.
It would be a different story If I knew these CFL "reporters" actually had watched a lot of these top U Sports QBs actually play football and lots of times - they could then say stuff like "well, the guy's arm strength is not that good", but I really doubt they do watch much, if any. And at the same time they never question how CFL teams nowdays will bring up American QBs who were limited starters in college ball or from lower levels of college ball down there (Div III, NAIA) and give them real shots in TCs = guys who have zero experience in or understanding of the Canadian game - yet routinely ignore all-star, top passing stats, several years of starting experience, U Sports QBs who grew up playing Canadian ball ? Why not ask those kinda questions ? = cause they're good little sheep part of the same old system. Tachinski could make a fine slotback though. Morons.

Hey, if there's 36 QBs (including one stashed on the PR or IR), on CFL rosters this year, just be damn happy and proud that 2 of them will be Canadians, and likely starters - that's just "radical" - that a whole 2 out of 36 got to try-out. Elgersma will not, IMO, get a real try-out even if he were to show up for a CFL TC, if he does not get an NFL look.
CFL "reporters" do want to discuss the real issue at work here.

The CFL's intern program for USports QBs has certainly been very helpful, as Elgersma himself has said. Great article here:

Rourke got drafted by the 49er's.

Elgersma didn't get drafted or signed. Has a few try outs lined up.

Looks more likely that Elgersma will be in a CFL camp this May.

I think Rourke being drafted will drop him below the second round of the CFL draft. He's likely unavailable up here until 2027 at the earliest. Elgersma should be drafted in the first two rounds, IMO. A mini-camp invite is not much of a commitment. He could very well end up in a CFL camp this year. I'd love Argos to get and develop him.
