New free agent Parish made a huge impact. Also permitted Jared Brinkman to don #69 and help on the OL.

Altho by donning 69, Brinkman would have been eligible to play o-line, he never did and did not even sit with the o-linemen at any point. He continued to play regularly at DT throughout the game.

IMO the fact that Allen went down early and Giffen was clearly dinged up (he had an ice pack on his lower back whenever he was on the sideline) is proof, IMO, that dressing just six o-linemen is a mistake. If Brinkman had to be inserted at guard, the blocking schemes would undoubtedly be disrupted and we'd lose his considerable presence on the d-line. As much as I like dressing nine d-linemen (and Hergott even got a few snaps on D yesterday), I hope mgmt comes to its senses before the ESF. Get MacKellar dressed along with Rice; a NAT special teamer will have to come out, but so be it.

CFL.ca transactions report that the Argos have signed unheralded WR Marquis McLean of Auburn U via the IFL Jacksonville Sharks to a Futures Contract.

It ended up being the right call.

Futures Contract indicates McLean will not join the team until the 2025 season unless he ends up being cut prior to TC. I don't think he is eligible to play this season AV.

You might not be old enough to remember the good old days of desperate Argos, desperate air-lift moves; an NFL cut in town a few days and handed a roster spot and often starting time. Of course the GMs and coaches who make these decisions "just want to win" though and will always do the right thing.

Nothing compares with the Ottawa Rough Rider airlifts in the 1970’s.

Yeah; likely up there with the Argos of the era.

It was almost like 2 seasons in one, teams like the Rough Riders revamped a large part of their rosters after the final NFL cuts started.
