Elgersma should be drafted in the first two rounds, IMO. A mini-camp invite is not much of a commitment. He could very well end up in a CFL camp this year. I'd love Argos to get and develop him.
I agree.
Ok, so which CFL team is going to make room for Elgersma - even if he is willing to show - to actually compete with real reps for a QB roster spot in a TC ? Who's going to cut or push down the depth chart one of their existing American QBs to allow Elgersma to take real reps ? I tried to point out earlier in this thread that the EE were the only team with just 3 QBs under contract now.

Elgersma, like Senecal or Desjardins (both of whom are superior CFL fit QBs IMO), could get CFL drafted but it would be only as a long-range, maybe prospect, if those teams can't find enough QBs for next season. All 3 will be back playing U Sports ball this season (though not sure if Elgersma's NFL camp participation would disqualify him there ?)

Sorry, but any U Sports QB (outside of Tre Ford with 4.4 speed) getting a real, honest CFL try-out in the forseeable future = I'll believe it when i see it.

Its not unusual for CFL teams to bring a lot of QBs to camp. I believe Jones once had 8 QBs in camp. If Elgersma doesn't sign in the NFL, I believe he will play regular season downs for the CFL team that drafts him. I think Senecal may have aged out? Maybe he will try and catch on as a CFL receiver. I think Desjardins has committed to going back to Laval and work on his MBA so we will probably see him back in U Sports.

You are incorrect there sir; the days of lots of QBs (more than 4 or 5) in a CFL TC are long gone; that happened plenty in the past with longer TCs and 4 ex. games instead of 2.

And the chance of Elgersma making a CFL team's game roster as one of the 3 QBs this year, are slim to none IMO. I hope he can impress in his NFL looks though - be nice to see him stick down there.

Three QBs picked in this year's CFL draft. If a Canadian QB is good enough, they will get a chance in the CFL.

Right on ! IF they are goode enough, they will get their chance, for sure. But the likes of Desjardins, Tachinski, Hillock, Hall, clearly aren't "good enough" so no need for a CFL team in QB need (like the Argos) to even bother to look at them in TC; better to draft / look at a 7th string O-line "depth" prospect.

Looking forward to the U Sports season

Will Hall lead York to greatness?

Will Tachinski play receiver or QB this season

Looking forward to watching Guelphs, Carleton, and Ottawa's young QBs.
