I suspect Senecal's Canadian playing career is over. Too old to return to the Carabin. Maybe he will end up in Europe?
Who did considerably better than 4-11 for 31 yards on his first 11 attempts of pre season. But go on, you know more than paid evaluators.
Unfortunately for Senecal, he was up against it with four quarterbacks ahead of him who have more experience playing in the league and in the Als system with the exception of MBT. I wouldn't be surprised to see MBT kept around to tutor Alexander rather than playing due to his vast experience.OV Argo wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 11:08 amj-ski wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 11:01 am Watched the whole game to get to watch Senecal play one series. Predictable; (it was 2 short series though) and with Maciocia in his corner too - LOL; same old CFL GOB bull$hite = not gonna change - the 2 EE raw rookie American QBs fighting for 3rd string got way more playing time in the ex. games; . Senecal could maybe be put on the PR with the Als. Or maybe he makes Canada's flag team. Probably ends up playing in the big Montreal flag league alongside another Hec winner in Adam Sinagra; i guess he could go to Europe as well.
Yep; even though he might have thought to have Maciocia in his corner, he was basically up against the worst possible landing spot in the league - a team with 4 QBs who already have either significant CFL experience or have been in their system for a least a year.primetime321 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 8:48 pmUnfortunately for Senecal, he was up against it with four quarterbacks ahead of him who have more experience playing in the league and in the Als system with the exception of MBT. Except that doesn't explain Tre Ford or Taylor Elgersma who would be on a CFL roster - and may yet be - if he weren't going to an NFL training camp?OV Argo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 10:03 pmYep; even though he might have thought to have Maciocia in his corner, he was basically up against the worst possible landing spot in the league - a team with 4 QBs who already have either significant CFL experience or have been in their system for a least a year.primetime321 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 8:48 pmUnfortunately for Senecal, he was up against it with four quarterbacks ahead of him who have more experience playing in the league and in the Als system with the exception of MBT. Meanwhile, the EE brought in 2 raw rookie American QBs to compete for #3; and the Argos continue to bring in lower level (Div III or NAIA) QBs to compete in camp, rather than giving a top U Sports QB a shot as well. Is what it is in the CFL now/still - same old on this file.
Tre Ford only got a real CFL shot because he runs a 4.4 range forty and was drafted by a guy (Ego Jones) who loves his fast "athletes" and can convert them to other positions; no 4.4 time and guaranteed Ford would have rated zero look as a CFL QB. If you believe Ford is getting to play in the CFL because of a superior passing arm and other QB skills compared to other top U Sports QBs from Ford's time and since, IMO you are dead wrong or mis-informed. There are a number of other U Sports QBs who easily had as good or better passing talent than Ford, but almost none of them get to compete in CFL TCs over the past number of years, while dozens of new American QBs (with zero understan ding of the nuances of QB play in the Canadian game; and none of them need to run a 4.4 forty to get a look) do. If you can't grasp this, don't what to say.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Tue Jun 03, 2025 1:49 pmExcept that doesn't explain Tre Ford or Taylor Elgersma who would be on a CFL roster - and may yet be - if he weren't going to an NFL training camp?OV Argo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 10:03 pmYep; even though he might have thought to have Maciocia in his corner, he was basically up against the worst possible landing spot in the league - a team with 4 QBs who already have either significant CFL experience or have been in their system for a least a year.primetime321 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 8:48 pm
