Whatever head coach they are able to hire -- won't be Steinauer, either, I'd wager -- will have to work under a GM who does no GMing, in a front office with one personnel guy. Pelley and MLSE have begun the process of grinding the franchise to dirt, it seems.
Steinauer isn’t leaving Hamilton, currently their President of Football Operations.

Now you know how little his word is worth.

Never trust anyone who uses confidential sources. It's a telltale sign of crap journalism.

Amazing how quickly the team went from shithouse to penthouse back to shithouse. 2019-2025. Pinball had built very quickly an organization that seemed like it was destined to be the model franchise in the league. Is the demise due to the lack of support by its ownership or by something else. I don't believe that Michael who put all the earlier pieces in place for success would be content to tear all of that down. This has got to be ripping him apart that he cannot bring one of his best friends and teammates in O'SHEA back here to help him.

That's far too broad a statement. There have been many massively important stories that were based on confidential sources, and wouldn't have come to light otherwise. I will, however, agree that anonymity is granted far, far too freely these days. Where I disagree completely is with your use of the word "journalism" to describe what a funeral-service employee is doing when he posts online.

I would never have believed I'd say this, but IMO the org will be very hard pressed to succeed as long as Pinball remains GM. He's getting paid a significant salary, which eats into the ops cap to the point where good staff leave and don't get replaced, and he doesn't do the work a GM typically does. Before Rogers acquired control, the other two owners seemed OK with building up a large front office of high-quality people, letting big-salary players spend the entire year on IR just in case, etc. Now we have virtually no front office and have been made the laughingstock of the league by so openly courting O'Shea, only to be spurned five minutes after he left the job interview.

There have been rumblings that Steinauer wants to get back to coaching. As I recall, he was booted upstairs after the disappointing 2023 season. Whether he would want to rejoin the Argos right now is a whole other question.

Dark days as an Argo fan right now. O'Shea felt like the best choice with regards to attracting free agent talent and dealing with the bogus schedule in 2026. If they go with a new voice, then it likely will be difficult to attract star players here. Then, learning of the barebones personnel staff and it's hard to have any hope.

I love Pinball but agree, he's more of a president than GM and is best suited to managing a committee of employees. The fewer the staff, the more exposed he is that he is more of a figurehead. Just make him the president (where he should be) and build up the personnel department.

I don’t see him leaving to join the Argos.

Yes there certainly are exceptions to the rules.

My sources on the inside tell me Bob Dyce will be the Argos next head coach.

I hope at least Bob gets a chance, along with Ego-Jones and LaPo.
