Huge win for the Argos. Don't care how it happened, but I had to look away more than once. At least the dreaded "Argos bounce" didn't surface to bite them at the end.
Defence dominated their o-line all night. You could see how frustrated Collaros was getting as the game went on.
Although it perhaps should not have been so close, I am not surprised. Wpg is a great team and won't go down without a fight.
If you look at it, both teams held the other on goal line stands, so that is a wash. The two missed field goals by Castillo was the difference, in the end, points wise.
The BEST thing about the victory though, is that with the win the Hamilton Tiger Cats got eliminated from playoff contention. Now that has made my Thanksgiving weekend even better.

After watching the Milton play again I'm convinced there was no P I on the play. Good to see Chaves come through--he must have been under a lot pressure seeing it was his first pro game. Great performance by the DL . Hope Carey is not seriously injured as he is a key part of the Argo offense.
Agreed - big-time acting job by Lawler; but the CC might have been too gutless to over-turn it.
Gotta do some thing about that moron goal-line offence; reminding me again of a Wally Buono coached BC Lions team of a number of years ago that were useless / incompetent on those goal-line tries. How bout QB under C and a quick pitch off-tackle to a bigger back (not McMahon); or a tight end release play (pretty sure it worked to perfection with back-up RB Pellerin (?) a few years ago); or just run normal formation and have Kelly sprint out with an RPO? All of these are better than the dumb QB sneak right into the teeth of a D that is looking for it.
Kinda of a frustrating win cause it should have not been that close / almost blew it.
Too bad Carey got nicked but could have still stuck with more ground game (Adebobye is way stronger into the line than little McMahon); Kelly ran well = good, do even more of that; and a few more deep pass shots (Nield could have caught that one against young starter safety Kelly - he should have been tested more.)
Argos showed they have the better offence and defence than the Bombers IMO; bodes well for a potential GC match-up.

Was anyone else irritated by Marshall Ferguson when he said that the Argos are trying to "spoil" the Bombers clinching first place? LIke no, Marshall, the Argos were trying to clinch a playoff spot themselves. I know he was probably holding onto any hope for his Ticats, but still...

One of my favourite parts of the victory last night was that earlier in the day, Derek Taylor tweeted about how good Sergio Castillo has been and put up some analytics of how he was the top kicker in FG’s above expected (I don’t know, shouldn’t most FG’s be expected now that all kicks are directly in front of the goal posts?). I really liked him at TSN, but man has he ever become a huge homer since getting the Bombeds job, likely influenced by that loser Doug Brown. How many years did he play in an 8/9 team league and never win a championship?
In any event, I responded to him after the game and said his tweet didn’t age well.
I met him and his lovely wife once at The Second City in Chicago. They were at the same show as my wife and I. Very nice couple. I think there are a bunch of really good players from Ottawa, Winnipeg and Hamilton who never got to win a cup because of how long their droughts were/are. Stegall probably the best to never win. Brown was very good. Would you not want him on your team during your playing days? He and Taylor are big time Homers though.
My comments about Brown never winning were in jest. He just rubs me the wrong way whenever I have listened to their radio calls.

No I didn't mind it. No matter how good the Bombers seem to be, the Argos frequently find a way to pull the rug out from under them. Look at the 2022 Grey Cup. Heck, I remember the Argos starting Arbuckle for a home opener and beating a seemingly unstoppable Winnipeg team. It seems to be a recurring theme. If I were a Bombers fan, I would dread games against the Argos.

No worries. Posters on this site are all in CFL and Argos fans and know their talent. I'm still figuring out everyone's sense of humor even though I've been on here since 2012.

The score really flattered Winnipeg tonight. Beating up on the Western Football Conference for most of the season caught up with them at home tonight. Good leadership by Kelly and a great game plan that the D played to perfection. Look forward to CFL media taking Ottawa next Saturday.
Playoffs here come the Argos.
Nobody in their right mind is picking Ottawa over Toronto on the road on 5 days rest. Toronto has beat the 2 first place teams in consecutive weeks. Ottawa would have to blow the doors off Montreal and put up 600 yards of offence to be favored over the Argos. Argos should be 1, 2 or 3 in all power rankings now.
Well Scooter let's revisit this later this week when the "Experts " submit their picks.

We know that at least one of them will be picking the Redblacks.

Marshall made it clear a couple months ago with his article predicting Rourke would return to the CFL as an Argo....without even mentionng Kelly was under contract. I thought he was better than that.
