I would love someone to go through the NFL schedule and calculate how often every team, or any team for that matter, plays Sunday/Thursday. I would bet no team does it more than once a season, and some teams do it never. A lot of people who say MBT's complaint is hogwash argue that it happens in the NFL "all the time." Any given team doing it once a season, or never, is a lot different than some teams up here doing it two or three times a year.
MBT played on four days rest last year in a league with no bye weeks. Did he complain then? His team won that game.
Why did he wait until he lost to complain about the schedule? Did he not look at the schedule in advance? He had to know what he signed up for.

The Toronto/Hamilton game should have been played on Friday night and the Edmonton/Ottawa game on Saturday night, as long as the stadiums were available (and perhaps there was an issue with that).
I think Forge FC was planning a “we’re the best soccer team in Ontario” party last night. Sunday doubleheader would have been great. I am happy the Argos game was Saturday because it allows me to have a great gathering of friends over to watch with me.

MBT is so right about this. Thursday night games should always include a team coming off their bye against a team that didn’t play the previous Saturday or Sunday. It really shouldn’t be that hard to schedule. So maybe Argos/Ti-Cats should have been Thursday although for selfish reasons, I am glad it’s tonight

No doubt the league could do a bit better, but there are so many factors in scheduling that it's a wonder there aren't even more complaints. TV's requirements are obviously paramount but other factors come in as well. Field availability, team preferences for home game days and times, working around bye weeks, player safety. They all have to be considered. MBT absolutely has a point, especially when some teams have to do it three times and others only once or none, but as long as TV provides the revenue it does, there will be summer games on four days most weeks.

According to this schedule, every 2023 USFL game was played on Saturday or Sunday. So he (and every other player) always had six, seven, or eight days between games.

If you have evidence of a four-day break between games, I'd like to see it.
Pardon me, I should have said 5 days rest. According to this, the breakers played on June 4th and June 10th.

I'm not. MBT played on 5 days rest in a league with no bye weeks. I mistakenly said 4.
In the NFL teams rarely play 3 games a month. It's usually 4 or 5. In the CFL, teams have 2 3-game months or more.
MBT is whining and he's making it seem like the CFL is so far behind any other league in scheduling and it's total BS.

The league has to minimize the number of teams playing on 4 & 5 days as much as possible. Quality of game play and injuries are the result and fairness of schedule.
Ottawa gets Edmonton, Calgary and Saskatchewan on 5 days rest all at home. Huge competitive advantage. Mind you they were on 5 days rest playing Edmonton themselves so that's a wash.
Thursday night games should be the team coming off bye and a team that played the previous Friday or Thursday as much as possible.
And teams shouldn't be on the road for more than 2 games.
Or Randy can get the 10th team in place. Peladeau must have some insight into getting a team in Quebec City. If Maritimes are ever to be an option a wealthy owner like the Irving family or McCain family needs to be involved.
At this point I would prefer Quebec City. The natural rivalry with Montreal would be up there with Ham/Toronto, wpg/sask, edm/Calgary. And Quebec produces so many great players now.

USFL was strictly Saturday and Sunday league so the minimum days between games is 6. Never was there a game 5 days after a previous one. Yes 5 days off between games, but the minimum days from 2 game to another is 6. Practice weeks are also limited on 5 day weeks, as you lose a full practice and only have 2 practices and a walk through instead of the usual 3 and a walk through which is normal be it 6, 7 or more days between games

I was just doing some research, Edmonton and Winnipeg played a 3-game playoff series in 1958 for the Western Final. The games were played on November 15, 19 and 22 respectively. Imagine MBT's reaction to that.

And they had I believe 32 man rosters back then with several players playing both ways. Now, the game was nowhere near as fast back then and there weren’t nearly the devastating high speed collisions that you see today. Defensive players practiced form tackling back then, where today most players think they can just hit someone and they will go down
