I don't know what you are basing this on. I don't see the makings of an o-line they can contend with. Many guys (as with every team) are on expiring contracts and might not be back. There is no Vince Magri/Alex Russell to find NAT gems (this year's draft looks like a complete bust, after five great ones in a row). They are playing 12 games on the road next season. Who knows what's happening at QB. There will likely be changes to the coaching staff (and there probably should be). IMO only the receivers, Arbuckle, the linebackers and Hajrullahu met or surpassed expectations this season -- much more will be needed to contend in 2026.

Cameras kept showing his not so enthusiastic body language. I didn't notice that last week. But at the same time he never caught a pass all game except for that TD....I don't know what Suitor is on.

He was also going on and on about how the Lions D had improved since the last game against the Argos. Based on what? A QB that had no strength in his leg to be able to have anything on his throws? I knew from Arbuckle’s early attempted deep balls that he couldn’t push off on his leg. Suitor expiry date is long over. He just babbles all game.

I think it might go back to the game where Polk was berating Brissett and did not offer to help him up after that dive to the end-zone with clock expiring. He does look like a cry-baby out there this season if things are not going his way.

Polk is a fine receiver talent, but IMO there are lots of those in the CFL; prefer a team guy who runs his routes well, blocks and works hard, over a superstar in his own mind who is good only when he's wide-open and has a strong-arm QB to deliver strikes. Polk is similar to Coxie in receiver skill-set IMO - both capable of big plays and tough 50/50 ball grabs (often down the rail), but neither is very fast, and both have drops issues at times, especially in traffic - if it had to come down to keeping just one, I'd go with Coxie.

Do the Argos still not have on their current roster 4 fifths of the O-line that started and won a GC last season ?

And pretty well every CFL season, there are teams that step-up to surprise and play well above expectations - like the Stamps this season - some new coaches and some good new talent found and they are contending for first place, after looking like junk last year. Any team can win in the CFL now - where there is nothing even close to a powerhouse team (like the 96-97 Argos or 68-69 Ottawa teams or the EE dynasty, for example)

In a game that had the makings of a blowout, they fought hard with an injured QB and major o-line issues. 11 rushes for 27 yards was no help to Arbuckle.

Hopefully we can go out with a win over our eternal rival in the home finale.

I agree, OV. I believe the Argos have the answers at o-line mostly in house. At the end of last year, they had Hunter at LT, Giffen at LG, Nicastro at C, Vandal at RG and Allen at RT. Only Allen is gone. The Argos have since added the likes of Doxtater and Dankwah (both promising Canadians). Unfortunately, Giffen has missed the entire season this year. I believe that most of these linemen are locked up through next season, with Giffen possibly being one of the few not signed. Ciraco is likely also unsigned but I doubt they will bring him back.

Obviously, they have to keep looking to improve through the draft and recruiting American talent, but I believe the building blocks on the o-line are largely in place. They have played well in the past but it feels like injuries, more than anything, have hampered that unit in 2025.

Whether the solution is in-house or starting two Americans, the situation with our tackles has to be stabilized for 2026.

Needed to get more than 3 points off of those turnovers.

It wasn't until last game where I fully realized how good we had it from 2021 to 2024.

One thing I am optimistic about is that the Argos have all the tools in place to be contenders next year. I don't think they will spend the next five years lost in mediocrity, which is how they operated in the 2010's.
They have some good pieces in place but to be honest I think this roster needs a lot of work.
OL, DL, Secondary RB need attention not to mention QB which currently has a ton of uncertainty.
They can contend next season but that certainly isn’t a given IMO.
