Dru Brown to Toronto and Kelly to Ottawa? Probably not, but not out of the question IMO.
That would be a terrible trade.
He knew the Argos couldn't offer him the GM position.
I get the sense the Argos weren’t all in on retaining Dinwiddie reading between the lines on his interview with Dunk.
TBH I’m not all that bent out of shape that he left, having said that I think Keith Pelley is a clown the way he seems to be doing business.
I respect Dinwiddie for not even trying to get the Argos to counter offer, it is “bad business” to go through the full interview process and use an offer to up the ante with your current employer.
There are too many indicators that the Argos have returned to being a half assed organization that is being run on the cheap which doesn’t bode well for the on field product.
Two years ago the best football ops department, now a skeleton staff (at best).
I love the Pinball as much as anyone but he isn’t a General Manager, as many on here have previously stated he should be elevated to a senior management role.
I suspect Vince Magri would have stayed in Toronto if he was elevated to General Manager and now Dinwiddie has also moved on, can’t keep letting good football people go elsewhere and maintain a good program, simply won’t work.

Why is Keith Pelley having contract discussions with the head coach? We knew Pinball is not a traditional GM (which is a big problem IMO, especially since he's undoubtedly eating up a large chunk of the mgmt cap) but now he's not even the one talking to the head coach about a new contract? This org is completely dysfunctional; it began before Pelley arrived when Magri and Russell were allowed (encouraged?) to bail, and has accelerated since.

Pelley has all of MLSE to oversee and Argos would be in fairness the least time spent on. Just from an efficiency standpoint it makes no sense for him to do this. Pinball should be acting as President even if they don't want him to have the title. All things Argo should cross Pinballs desk, and Pelley should be simply Michael what do you need from me?

5 years is a long tenure for a head coach in professional sports but this whole change feels like we are in some kind of twilight zone. The stability so dearly sought was in place and while this season did not go well there were so many factors that led me to be content with a re-tooling of the roster but majority of it largely in place, especially the coaching staff. Now everything is in flux. This feels like the off-season before the 2017 season....hmmm....maybe the only glimmer of hope for me there is how that turned out.

I think you have pretty much nailed it here. It seems obvious that Rogers/MLSE/Pelley are running this franchise on the cheap. It's so frustrating to see, but I guess this is what we're stuck with.

Pelley canned Shanny and Ujiri because he wanted more influence over the Leafs and Raptors, it’s not a surprise he wants a hand in running the Argos too.

I get the same sense. Whether they saw his demands for the GM post as unreasonable, whether there were problems in the locker room, or whether it was O’Shea’s pending availability — or maybe a combination of all three — I think mgmt was happy to see RD leave.

I hope the Argos planned/prepared for this possibility by being confident in landing O'Shea.
O'Shea is Winnipegs all time most win headcoach.
I'm not so sure they let him walk.
I hope Mike wants to come home.

Reading rumors of Chris ego-Jonestown being a possible Argo HC or GM candidate ?
WTF ? - how is this even possible? - oh wait, it's the brainiacs at MLSE in charge.
60 plus years of Argo fandom down the drain.
He does find talent. I would let him scout/gm in the USA only or be defensive coordinator. I would never hand him the keys to the franchise or let him be my Head Coach. He was excellent in 2012 here in bringing talent in.
Question is: even if Jones is brought in as a personnel guy then how well would he get along with John Murphy. They both seem to be strong personalities.

Jonestown. At least we can buy Kool-Aid at BMO again. Oh Yeah!
