Couple of observations from the scrimmage:
1. Andre Miller dropped a pass from Chad Kelly that would've gone for 6.
2. Chad looked good at times, and not so great at others.
3. Peyton Logan looked good at RB, but that's hard to evaluate in a scrimmage.
4. Some bad breakdowns on defense, but they also got their "wins."
5. It was like watching paint dry.
Back in the 1970s, they would have an actual intrasquad game that would draw large crowds to old Exhibition Stadium. Different times now for sure.

I thought it was exactly the opposite.

At least he had the generosity to share some observations from the scrimmage with fellow Argo fans.

I did for a practice last week, and Mike Hogan covered the scrimmage pretty well.

It just didn't excite me as much as in year's past.

It was a perfect weather day for the training camp---here are some of our casual observations:
.The receiving crew looks especially strong. We did not see Polk (minor injury?) but several WRs impressed, especially Kahmann.
. Not sure if Hicks will make the team but he certainly has real speed.
.One must feel for Rayam--after missing most of the past two years at college with injuries, he was on the sideline with what looked like a minor injury.
.The starting DL appeared to be Chatfield DE, Toia DT, Holley DT, Kongbo DE Shand seemed to get good playing time at DE
.Slywka seemed to be playing close to the DL when he was on the field.
. Ethan John made some good plays from his FS position.
Since many players could not be identified as we did not have the numbers for a lot of the players, please accept the observations as very general observations. Also we missed a good number of plays as we were in conversations quite a bit and Pinball was as gracious as ever.

CFL transactions list Enock Maconzo as retiring. Wonder is Slywka will go back to FS?

I think that they wanted to go Canadian there. Could Blackburn be an option with Ethan John?

Blackburn and John would allow team to play a Canadian at FS but with Blackburn injured and John a rookie, can the team afford not to play Slywka at FS---considering who good he was last year. I guess we will just have to wait and see..
