I'm not. MBT played on 5 days rest in a league with no bye weeks. I mistakenly said 4.
In the NFL teams rarely play 3 games a month. It's usually 4 or 5. In the CFL, teams have 2 3-game months or more.
MBT is whining and he's making it seem like the CFL is so far behind any other league in scheduling and it's total BS.
USFL was strictly Saturday and Sunday league so the minimum days between games is 6. Never was there a game 5 days after a previous one. Yes 5 days off between games, but the minimum days from 2 game to another is 6. Practice weeks are also limited on 5 day weeks, as you lose a full practice and only have 2 practices and a walk through instead of the usual 3 and a walk through which is normal be it 6, 7 or more days between games
That's fair. I was off about that.
Did MBT complain in 2022 or 2021 when he was playing for a strong Argos team?
Edmonton had a bye week leading up to the two games and every teams gets 3.
I just don't get willingly participating in something you have a full understanding of, only to call it disgusting afterwards. Makes no sense to me.

He may have complained, but with the lack of media coverage in this market, it may have gone on deaf ears. And to be fair, he complained about it before the Lions game, not just after the loss. He said it going into that game. And to have it happen again so close together obviously really got to him. I complained about the Argos playing 6 days between games against well rested Allouettes and Riders teams in back to back weeks, so I totally get it.
And I will ask again, are his comments more damaging to the league than Kristina Costabile’s and the female Bombers exec regarding Kelly and the Argos? Reputational damage. Executives should understand that.

Gotta feel bad for the Elks and their fanbase at this point. They're on their way to lose another one. Hard to believe we almost lost to this team this season, although they looked much better back then.

They need to pull MBT and play Tre Ford.
MBT has been awful.

It's completely ridiculous that they haven't started Tre Ford in the second half, especially as MBT has looked particularly bad this evening. I think the Elks have to be worried that they are going to start losing their fanbase, as they have been clambering for weeks about giving Tre Ford a chance to play. I realize you can't run a team based on what the fans think, but with their dismal record this season and the continuous losses, Elks management is starting to just look stubbornly obstinate about not giving Ford a chance to try and win some of these games! Just to change the dynamic somewhat. We all thought it was due to Chris Jones, but apparently not!

They're getting pounded now, the game is basically over. You would think they start Tre Ford in their next game. Edmonton fans are probably looking forward to the Oilers season to start. Time to stick a fork in the Elks season, they're not turning this around.

Exactly, I'm laffing to myself as I listen to the TSN guys practically begging the Elks to put Ford in.

now it's 40 to 8 Ticats, if you were Milo why not take Bo out of this laffer and let the backup play? Half of the Elks starting secondary are out of the game, those who are in don't seem to know what to do out there, would be a good chance to build some confidence in your #2 QB?

I see no positive in the Elks even keeping MBT. At 0-7, to keep a hi-priced 35 year old at QB makes no sense. If he gets relegated to back up, I think he walks on his own. Apparently there is quite a bit of his salary tied to starts. I don’t think he would be a happy camper. Last week he said being pulled for a couple of series hurt his rhythm. What rhythm? He hadn’t moved the team to that point. It was ridiculous to keep him in to start the 2nd half today.
Also, the genuine excitement you saw fromThe Elks players for Ford, has me wondering if MBT isn’t that popular in their dressing room.
I said at the time, it was not a good signing for the Elks. I feel vindicated.

I love MBT and what he contributed to the Argos but I also believed it was the wrong move for the Elks to make. They should just release MBT at this point and free themselves of salary and commit to Tre Ford as their starting QB moving forward. MBT is a good enough QB to put a solid team over the top, like the 2022 Argos, but likely not a good enough QB to make a bad or subpar team good.
