So, the Lions announce that VA will be starting their season finale this week at home against the Als. I will be interested to see if it sparks the team, because I truly believe a lot of players on that team can't understand how he lost his job in the first place. If they win, they kind of have to go with him in the playoffs.

I tend to agree with the reports that the players don't dislike Nathan Rourke but that they really see Vernon Adams as their leader and the person who should be their starting QB this season. If the Lions have any chance of turning their season around, it's going to have be with VA as their QB.

BC was fortunate the schedule makers gave them a bye going into the playoffs. This team is a mess.

They've got Montreal on a short week at home with Montreal having nothing to play for, and likely resting a bunch of players.
If BC is going rebuild their confidence this needs to be their statement game. If VA lights Montreal up, he likely gets the playoff start in the semi final.

But I repeat...Glen Suitor says Rourke just needs reps.

And that he would be a pro bowler in the NFL if they gave him a chance.

My theory that Rourke never really cared for the Lions or the CFL still stands. He mentioned that he would like to return to the NFL in a recent 3DN article.

The kid has no heart right now. He left it in the US.

Yeah - i recall that one from Suitor, buttering-up poor Nathan.

Surprised that line did not become a great go to joke or punch-line at another site where they love to mock players not on their homer team.
The Farhan Lajji comment calling Rourke a top 20 in the "world" QB talent is still good fodder though. Imagine - a CFL player even close to a top 20 with all the NFL super-heroes in comparison - what a joke / not even in the same Universe  (note - Alex Singleton wins CFL D player of the year award, goes to the NFL, gets a shot to play, and in the past 3 seasons is 3rd in the ENTIRE NFL in cumulative D tackles in that span = WTF?)

You would think a Canadian QB, would never stop being humble just because the system is against you from day one. They are today's American black QB from 1985 and before.
This situation will either propel him to greatness, or he will allow it to consume him in negativity.
My vote is on greatness.

Rourke was a very good Div I QB in US college ball = he would have attracted serious CFL interest even with an American passport. And the NFL has zero against him just because he is Canadian; its that he didn't come from a big Div I powerhouse, plus those experts have basically zero respect for outstanding CFL QB play (Rourke set the historic CFL's all-time completion % mark = pffft, to the NFL experts).

The comparison to bias against black QBs in the NFL back in the day stands for Canadian (U Sports trained) QBs today with the CFL - only it's worse. And the few people who are pulling for Canadian QBs like Rourke or Tre Ford mostly just don't get that. Sheep afraid to speak up on the matter allows the system to carry on, same old.

The Argos just signed yet another Div III US college ball star QB (another Brian Scott); anybody here figure they will have any interest in the crop of very good U Sports QB talent (at least 6 of them by my books) for next TC ? Oh say can u see.
