Perhaps if Dinwiddie`s comments about Vandal are to be taken in context, then maybe both Giffen and Doxtater would be inserted into the lineup and Vandal moved to the bench.
Call me crazy, but I think Dinwiddie’s comments were more towards Nicastro. He after all did lose his starter’s job to start the season and with Ciraco starting would have been moved back to guard in all likelihood. There has to have been a reason he fell out of favour
Maybe? - between him and Vandal I guess; maybe they should challenge their coach to a bench press competition. ;) :?:

So there has now been online speculation, here and elsewhere, that he was referring to Vandal, Hunter or Nicastro. Guess we should also throw Giffen into the mix, considering that he, IIRC, started in the Grey Cup but didn't win a starting job this year. That's four guys, any of whom could have been the target of Dinwiddie's wrath. Does it really make sense to blurt out a criticism of one unnamed player that triggers fans to point fingers at two or three other guys? If you were one of the guys he wasn't referring to, how happy would you be to have been tarred by the same brush?

Again, it seems only you care about online speculation. I'm sure all the players know who he was talking about. Must be your journalistic instinct to try and make this way bigger than it is.

I think you are missing the point. The players may well know who he's talking about, but the fans don't. So now there are fans who think it must be Vandal, or it might be Nicastro, or maybe it's Hunter, Giffen, etc. Two or three guys are under suspicion despite apparently doing nothing to warrant it. You may choose to believe this is a non-story; I don't.

I'm not missing the point. Seriously, do you really think players care what fans are speculating?

This is rarefied air in Dinwiddies tenure. 3 straight losses and at the beginning of a season. The players being speculated about have all performed for him in the past. Even last year without Kelly and Dukes playing without the ability to throw down field confidently the Argos did better. Mind you the defence and special teams played at all star levels.
Nobody has been released as of yet publicly. We will see what Dinwiddie says after day one of practice tomorrow now that he has had time to cool down.
This hopefully will mark a positive turning point in their season or it could go sideways. This adversity will bring them together or begin to unravel them.
I have confidence in both the players and Dinwiddie to turn it around.

And do you seriously believe the players are going to have no problem with their HC referring to one of them as a lightweight weakling who doesn't care ?

It was a cowardly, moron thing to say in public about one of your players, IMO; if you disagree and believe that it was just fine & dandy coach behaviour bound to motivate the entire team, hey, have at 'er.

Well, I now feel even stronger about my feelings. I will as you say, have at ‘er.

Richards is a solid depth piece. Good to see him back.
