I have come down off the ceiling enough to finally type a post...Wow just Wow. Sooo proud of our team.
After all we went thru, all the great 2023 players we lost, dropping from 16 wins to 10 wins was not a schock.
Bede, Pickett, AJ, D-line, Gittens, etc etc
BUT...
Mgmt. deserves lots of credit for plugging the holes for us, coaches deserve credit for designing the strategies
that put our players, old and new, into positions where they could use their skills to the best of their ability.
And coaches deserve credit for molding this group into a Family that cared for each other.
Defence came thru for us big-time, thanks guys. Our secondary that looked so leaky came to play tonite.
ARGOS RULE!! :D

our D held the Bombers to 15 first downs, some of those in the last 2 minutes when nobody was looking.
Collaros < 50%. Quite an accomplishment by our D.
AND Argos had more than double the penalties of Winnipeg.
Argos 36 min possession vs 24 min. WAAYY different than the East Semi vs Ottawa.

Past Grey Cup victories carry great memories, but consider in 2022 we were a 1st Place team, this time 2nd place, and
so many roadblocks to break thru, so many injury absences, three season losses to the Ticats (!), this was an
unforgettable roller coaster season.
But like the Als in 2023, our team rose to the challenge in the most critical moment. AROS RULE!!!

Just got back from the game! I live in BC and was in the stadium in 2019 when they got obliterated 55-8 and that night Pinball was hired and Dinwiddie in the off-season. And now, to be in the same stadium 5 years later to see them win their 2nd Grey Cup in 3 years was so amazing!

Agree completely. I’d call it a superb coaching performance from RD. The play-calling was excellent and at times brilliant. He stayed committed to the run and that really paid off in the second half. He kept things simple for Arby but still mixed things up with some new looks. The two plays to McMahon were huge 2nd down calls and huge momentum builders. The Mital TD was a brilliant call brilliantly executed (the pass had to be absolutely perfect to maintain Mital’s angle and speed, and it surely was).

Dunigan said this team was designed to win no matter WHO played QB, and I think that says it all about RD.

Never lost a championship. He has to be Torontos greatest sports figure in history. The work on Pinballs and Candys statues should begin immediately. Placed outside Gate 1 at Bmo, where everyone can touch them as they enter stadium for good luck.

This is apropos of nothing, really, but if anyone has an hour or so to spare, it's quite something to read the main Grey Cup thread over on Morning Big Blue. The overconfidence/hubris before the game are astonishing; the recriminations/anger after are breathtaking.

Oh, and one of the dumbest things I have ever heard on 3DownNation's podcast (and there have been a few over the years) was Justin Dunk's assertion that "Toronto is a house of cards. You talk to people around the league and they're surprised the Argos are here without a true president. And Michael Pinball Clemons, with all due respect, is not a true general manager of this football team. . . . It's a house of cards."

Fact check: The Argos do not have a president, true. Pinball is not a general manager in the traditional sense, true. And yet somehow they not only made it to their second Grey Cup game in three years, but they won it going away despite an injury to their starting QB. Some house of cards, eh?

When Pinball first took over in his present role in 2019, he spoke about retaining local talent and also about building a team that would contend every year, like the Stampeders did for so long, rather than having a franchise with incredible ups and downs as has been the case for decades. He has clearly accomplished both over the past four years and hopefully can continue to do so for years ahead.
