Sugar! Sorry ArgoGabe22. I am honored to start the game threads going forward.
It was a successful run in the playoffs last year doing the threads.
If Will is good with it, I will do it.

Can't wait. Looks like great weather. Going down with my son. I expect much better preparation, focus, and execution from the Argos. They typically play well versus VA.

Question is: who will be the main return man since Turner has been placed on the PR and Grant is still out. Will McMahon be the primary returner or will they use someone else?
I see that Celestin Haba has been inserted into the lineup. Let's see if he gets some reps and if he is able to keep contain against VA, which will be paramount. I'm hoping that Ojo will be given some playing time also.

I'm guessing Herslow and Ungerer on punts, Herslow and McMahon on kickoffs.

The Stumps did run the ball quite well - with 2 backs - in their first game; so a balanced attack could be hard to defend and they have some dangerous receivers; VA on his A game could do lots of damage.
George at S-OLB could have a good impact and maybe Haba too for pass rush; Herslow could help the receiving corps.

VA can look like an all world QB and a complete stiff all in the same game, I agree if Adams is on his game he can do a lot of damage.OV Argo wrote: ↑Sat Jun 14, 2025 12:30 am The Stumps did run the ball quite well - with 2 backs - in their first game; so a balanced attack could be hard to defend and they have some dangerous receivers; VA on his A game could do lots of damage.

Argonauts need to protect the football on offence and create pressure (and contain) Adams on D.
I suspect the Argonauts are still trying to figure things out with all the lineup changes this season.
Let’s hope for the best!

Good defence today. Arbuckle couldn't ignite the offence. I really hope Kelly and Grant are back soon. Good performance by Williams.

A mostly check down offence with little applied ground game support and a not so mobile QB ? - what could go wrong ?
Front 7 of the Argo D was stiff against the run at least.

I only watched the second half (didn’t seem to miss much in the first half). Even though Arbuckle is a serviceable backup, the offense loses a big play ability and mobility without Kelly. Even though the defense played better against the run today, they were still lacking in their pass rush particularly at the ends. They need to contain better especially against VA. I was impressed by Lanier though. He is the best d-lineman at this point. I wonder if the Argos are waiting on Breeland Speaks who is considered to be the best d-lineman in the UFL. He is playing in the championship game tonight with the Michigan Panthers.
