Game Thread: Saskatchewan Roughriders @ Toronto Argonauts
The CNE game, fortunate to be taking next Thursday and Friday off and am happy that this is our only Thursday night game of the year.
First time that Saskatchewan will be at BMO since 2019 because of the abbreviated 2021 season and TD Atlantic in 2022 and 2023. Hoping for a good crowd with some of the CNE uptick countering the amount of Green that will be in the stadium.
The obvious question with this one is who will be starting at QB: Chad Kelly or Nick Arbuckle?

if any casual CFL or Rider fans are looking for tickets ..... sometimes for ARGO games .....ticket master doesn't show accurate availability of seats... sometimes its best to call ARGO's directly ... if your looking for a specific section or price.... FYI for what its worth.
Should be a great game... great to finally have a Rider game and the Return of A.J.
Go ARGOS !!!

Me too. I just don’t get why the Riders are replacing the back that has had their 2 best RB performances of the season, granted both in non victories, but hardly his fault.ArgoGabe22 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 1:22 pmI hope and he will have a lousy game.ARGOFanIan wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 1:14 pm Should be a great game... great to finally have a Rider game and the Return of A.J.

Yep, Hickson has looked better than Ouellette so far this season.AngeloV wrote: ↑Thu Aug 15, 2024 5:35 pmMe too. So many returning Argos players & coaches. Chad Kelly behind centre. Riders are a big draw.
All set up for a big CFL match Thursday night.
What a difference a day makes.
I still think big moves will be made at the league level after the Grey Cup.

I hope it's before Grey Cup. This year's game in BC is going to be a big deal. Amar Doman will be hosting a huge event. The last thing I want to see again is a State of the League address by this lame duck commissioner. That will be so anti climatic to everything else that week will be about.GreyCup1971 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 11:05 am So many returning Argos players & coaches. Chad Kelly behind centre. To be honest, I think it will look better on the league to do it after the season. He can announce he is leaving and let it be his decision. It would be a much better look that way, and the league needs as many good looks as possible.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 11:56 amI hope it's before Grey Cup. Okay, putting aside all the other issues....
Is it a given that Kelly starts on Thursday? Dinwiddie has said previously that Chad is #1 QB, but he has been away from the team for 1/2 a season. He knows the offensive system and has no doubt kept in shape. The biggest issue will be lack of time to develop chemistry with his receivers.
Thoughts?

Valid question, should they start Dukes or Arbuckle with Kelly ready to go in only if needed.RB957 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 1:29 pm Okay, putting aside all the other issues....

Four practices doesn’t give much preparation for a player who hasn’t played since last November.
